Jose Mourinho feeling the cold as he leaves the Lowry... but has Manchester United boss finally found his mojo?

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was wrapped up warm in the freezing weather on Thursday morning as he headed to Carrington for training.

The 53-year-old, perhaps buoyed by Chelsea's defeat and the re-emergence of some kind of title race in the Premier League, braced himself against the -3 degrees Manchester cold as he left his temporary home at the Lowry Hotel at 8am.

While Manchester United are outside the top four, his former side's defeat at Tottenham means the Old Trafford outfit are now 10 points off the top rather than 13.

He may finally have found his mojo at United; he was pictured laughing in an Instagram video

For much of this season, Mourinho has worn a permanent frown, clearly disappointed with his time in Manchester so far, but a video posted by the club's Instagram account may well show that he has found his mojo again.

The short clip, reposted from sponsors Chevrolet, shows Mourinho laughing wildly at striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, alongside the caption: '#MRW (My reaction when) someone says a team other than #mufc has the best supporters in the world'.

Mourinho was heading to training on Thursday morning from his hotel residence in Manchester, ahead of United's FA Cup third round tie against Reading.

They host the Championship high-flyers at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime as the side take a break from all things Premier League after a busy festive period.

Mourinho was kitted out in an all-blue adidas tracksuit and grey running trainers as he carried a bag over his shoulder.

His laughter in the Instagram video is not the first piece of proof that 2017 has changed Mourinho; in fact, an interview with the club earlier this week gave the same impression.

Speaking exclusively to MUTV, he said: 'Well, the thing that made me immediately feel deeply about the club and the people, and the desire to work for the people, is the people.

'The typical Manchester United supporters, the ones that have unbelievable memories of the past, but know the realities of the moment. The ones who keep the expectations for the future but understand the road to arrive there and are always supporting the team, even in the bad moments we have had.

'That, for me, is the most significant thing because it's the thing that makes you fall in love with a new club. I think that's the thing that touched me more.

'I like my players very, very much. Not just the players, but the combinations between the players as people. They are very good guys and I love to work with them. I love my group so I'm really happy.'
