Panasonic's futuristic concept for driverless cars: Interior design has LED displays on the walls and 4K smart table with FOUR screens
- The Autonomous Cabin Concept would put Panasonic tech inside of the car
- Features a table in the center of vehicle, with four 4K screens each roughly 20in
- Screens could be used for individual purposes, or for full-table gameplay
Panasonic’s vision for the future of autonomous driving is complete with surface-top 4K tablet displays, smart materials, and augmented reality.
The firm revealed its Autonomous Cabin Concept at CES in Las Vegas, showing how driverless cars could soon allow your vehicle to be just like your living room.
The concept not only aims to make the passengers’ experience more enjoyable, but they say it could also make mobility much safer.

Exhibitors from Panasonic Europe at CES told Dailymail.com that the futuristic technology on display could be integrated into any autonomous car.
Inside of the sleek model showing off the Cabin Concept, the exhibitors demonstrated the large, four-tablet table that could sit in the middle of a vehicle.
Each display screen is roughly 20 inches wide.
This would act as the main interface, exhibitor Roberto Vecciu told Dailymail.com, and would be ‘where all the information flows.’
The system combines ‘infotainment’ with connectivity, and each individual panel can be used on its own – or, a family on a road trip could open up a four-player game and all play at once.
As it would work in a fully autonomous system, the ‘driver’s seat’ is turned around to face the back of the car, as is the front passenger’s seat.
With this design, four passengers can sit around the large table in the center.
A smart disk placed on one of the screens works like a knob, and when turned, it could be used to change the LED lights and brightness level or adjust the interior temperature, for example

On a long trip, kids could use individual screens to stream videos or music, while parents could check emails and do work, he explained.
But, it has safety purposes as well.
The screens would display any incoming alerts detected by the outside sensors, allowing the passengers to be aware of any potential hazards on the road.
Along the side, the concept car also featured a stunning LED display, which the exhibitor explained could be fine-tuned to meet the needs of the passengers.

The car even comes with a smart metal cup in the cup-holder, which can reveal different properties – like calorie count – about what’s inside of it, when placed on one of the display screens.
All of the technology inside is essentially ready to go, the exhibitors explained, and now only waits on a fully autonomous vehicle that could host it.
According to Panasonic Europe, the design could one day make ‘traveling in the autonomous car of the future as fun and as important to everyday life as a smartphone is today.’
