My proudest moment! New father videos and broadcasts wife's childbirth including emergency C-section (as mum tries to look happy about it)

  • A blogger dad broadcast his wife's C-section on Facebook to 100,000 people
  • YouTuber Stephen Skinner even filmed while she was on the operating table
  • Baby Atlas was born on December 28 weighing 9Ibs 9 ounces via C-section
  • The baby's head moved into a sideways position so a natural birth was too risky

A video blogger dad broadcast his wife's C-section on Facebook to 100,000 people, even filming while she was on the operating table, as she tried her best to put on a brave face.

Stephen Skinner, 32, hit record just as Holly, 28, was heading to hospital to be induced and was expecting to capture the water birth of their first child on camera.

Things didn't go to plan and doctors were forced to perform a C-section after the baby's head moved into a sideways position, the term is also known as an unstable lie.

Moments after birth the new parents and baby Atlas are snapped by the camera

Baby Atlas sleeps moments after being born. His birth has been watched by over 100,000 people online

Holly clutches her new baby. She said despite the pain she would go through pregnancy again

The condition occurs during the latter stages of pregnancy and forces the baby to move vertically and horizontally as oppose to a head first position suitable for child birth.

Holly tried to look relaxed as she told the cameras it would have been 'too risky' to induce her.

The excited parents-to-be, who both live in London, overcame the issues and baby Atlas was born on December 28 weighing a healthy 9Ibs 9 ounces.

Footage of a birth review video produced by Channel Mum, a YouTube channel that produces pregnancy blogs, shows Stephen fitting into nursing garb and a tired looking Holly with her son.

The couple, also known as by their online pseudonyms of NomadiDaddy and TheTinyMumma, documented the build up to the birth of their child from the early stages of the pregnancy on their private channels.

Channel Mum also published a video series of the latter stages of the pregnancy capturing the excitement, tears and even blood.

Although Stephen can hardly contain his excitement in the videos Holly was filmed in agony and extremely tired.

Footage showed the expectant mother crying in pain and undertaking exercises at home on a birthing ball as she tried to speed up the process over the holiday period.

Atlas was born weighing a healthy 9Ibs 9 ounces. The numerous stages of pregnancy were filmed and blogged onto YouTube and Channel Mum

The short episodes capture the highs and the lows of pregnancy including travelling to hospital and waiting for developments

The video camera was even allowed in the birthing room to capture baby Atlas being born and his first few moments in a bloodied towel with his delighted albeit very tired mother.

In the closing video Holly said: 'It has been hard but I would do it all other again. He is perfect'

The Skinner's are not the only ones to document the pregnancy in its numerous stages via Channel Mum.

Sarah-Jayne Ljungstrom, 35, from Richmond, south west London, posted a series of Facebook Live videos, that were also published by Channel Mum, documenting the 24-hour labour, starting with her first hospital trip after her waters broke.

She updated viewers as her contractions grew closer together and offered tips and advice to other mothers-to-be.

The mother-of-three also said she would look back on the footage if she ever thought about having another child, adding: 'Don't let me get pregnant again!'
