Kim Kardashian looks downcast as she enjoys a night out with troubled Kanye West... after breaking her silence over Paris heist

A troubling end to an otherwise productive year was swept to one side on Friday evening as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made a joint appearance in Beverly Hills.

Accompanied by a troupe of bodyguards, the couple looked visibly downcast ahead of what is rapidly becoming a rare night out on the town.

Kim, 36, eschewed her trademark glamour for a loose fitting plaid shirt and generously cut jogging bottoms as she made her way to a waiting car.

It was only a mere few months ago that Kim wouldn't even think about leaving the house perfectly coiffed, primed, contoured, bronzed and wearing head to toe designer.

But that was Kim pre-Paris heist. Since then, our national treasure has taken a break from it all, trading in her Balmain heels for Vans sneakers, opting for sweatpants over tight J. Brand jeans.

The mother of two teamed her low key ensemble with a pair of distinctively laced stiletto heeled boots, while a gold choker necklace and matching gold pendant proved to be her only visible accessories.

Walking two steps behind his wife, Kanye’s subdued outfit – a simple grey hoodie and baggy camouflage trousers – appeared to mirror his demeanour.

The divisive rapper, 39, rounded off his relaxed wardrobe with a pair of Yeezy boots from his own, Adidas affiliated range.

The couple were stepping out after an emotional Kim spoke for the first time of being held at gunpoint during a $10 million robbery at Paris Fashion Week, and husband Kanye's dramatic hospitalization less than two months later.  

The two events will be addressed in this season's Keeping Up With A Kardashians, a teaser trailer released by E! on Friday revealed. 

The 30 second clip lays bare just how harrowing Kim's ordeal was with the 36-year-old visibly distressed.

As sisters Khloe and Kourtney listen, a distressed Kim sits curled up in a ball on the couch as she recounts what happened that October night when armed gunmen burst into her hotel and robbed her.

Kim - who was bound and thrown in a bathtub - tells her sisters: 'They're going to shoot me in the back. There's no way out.'

So shaken is the mother of two, she said she struggles to even speak about what happened.

'It makes me so upset to think about it.'

Kim and her family would later be dealt another blow with Kanye's hospitalization following a mental breakdown.

The trailer it cuts to a distraught Kim taking a phone call as she learns that her husband has been admitted to the UCLA Medical Center.

It is not clear if she is talking to the rapper or whether it is his trainer Gunnar Peterson who was with Kanye at the time of his breakdown.

'Don't scare me, please. What's going on?' Kim says, crying on the phone.

As her mom Kris Jenner rushes over to find out what is wrong, Kim tells her family, 'I think he really needs me, and I have to get home.'
