Patrice Evra could still stay at Juventus despite ongoing links with Manchester United and Valencia, claims his agent

Patrice Evra could still see out his contract with Juventus despite ongoing reports that he is looking to leave in the January transfer window, according to his agent.

The 35-year-old has found first-team opportunities harder to come by since the emergence of Alex Sandro and has made just six appearances in Serie A this season.

He has subsequently been linked with a January move to Valencia and his former club Manchester United, although Jose Mourinho is not interested in bringing the defender back to Old Trafford.

The full back's agent, Federico Pastorello, insists there is every chance he could remain in Turin past the January transfer window, saying the upcoming week will be key to determining his future.

'It's not certain he will leave Juventus,' Pastorello told Juvenews.eu. 'We'll see what happens over the next few days.'

The next few days, however, may be rather telling with Italian newspaper Tuttosport claiming Massimiliano Allegri has left Evra out of his match day squad for Sunday's game against Bologna.

That omission could well be the final straw for Evra, who is not looking to see out a hugely successful club career on the bench.

Evra won five Premier League titles with Manchester United as well as three League Cups and one Champions League. He followed that up by winning two Serie A titles in his two seasons with Juventus, meaning he has won a domestic title in seven of his last nine seasons.

That winning mentality may have been exactly what Mourinho was looking for especially as doubts surround the future of Luke Shaw. The Special One, however, is ready to give Shaw another chance and won't stall his progress by signing Evra.

Sunderland are one Premier League club who are believed to be monitoring his situation but David Moyes has publicised the fact that he has no money to spend in the January transfer window.
