Between high-profile fashion modeling jobs over the past decade, Karlie has also found time to promote her love of computer science to young girls like she once was.
The former Victoria's Secret Angel developed a love for computer coding while she was growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, before she was discovered at age 13 while walking at a charity fashion show at her local mall, according to an interview with TechCrunch. She has continued to expand on that knowledge.
'Ruby on Rails is what I’ve been learning in my classes at the Flatiron School,' Karlie told the tech outlet.

Karlie recently began promoting that interest with young ladies, first by partnering with the Flatiron School in New York City on a scholarship dubbed #KodewithKarlie, and then by launching Kode with Klossy, her own free summer coding program for teen girls, ages 13 to 18.
'During the Kode With Klossy camp, the students are going to get to learn the fundamentals of Ruby on Rails too,' she explained. 'They’ll be able to apply that knowledge to build an app based on whatever they’re excited about or interested in.'
