So no doubt Hilary Duff found it somewhat ironic they are kept on the topmost shelves at Whole Foods.

The pint-sized actress was spotted struggling to reach the greens on her shopping list in Santa Monica on Thursday.

But the 29-year-old had a practical - if not very sanitary - solution by simply climbing up into the produce section to get at it.

The Younger star, who measures just 5'2", looked sporty in a pair of black Nike trainers, tight black leggings and a black bomber jacket.

Rummaging through the fresh vegetables, she stood on her tip-toes as she stretched in vain to grab the goods.

Without a second thought she clambered up onto the bottom shelf, parking her feet by the celery and steadying her self on a handful of shallots.

If the staff spotted her they didn't seem to mind, with one even kindly helping her to her car with her shopping cart.

Hilary Duff was spotted shopping for groceries in Los Angeles.

The Come Clean songbird was working it in an all black ensemble that consisted of a black bomber jacket with black skinny jeans.

She paired her casual ensemble with Nike Juvenate sneakers.

She just got back from an amazing vacation to Hawaii and we can see she looks relaxed and poised.
