And the new panel of mentors were sure to open the show with a bang, taking to the stage in unison with a joint performance.
Will I Am, Tom Jones, along with new additions Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale showcased the voices that got them there, unveiling the show following its move from the BBC to ITV.

The legend was unceremoniously dumped in favour of Boy George last year, but ITV brought him back after they won the bidding war for the show.

Speaking about the experience during a press launch to the BBC, Tom admitted it showed contestants that even established talent suffers rejection.
'I did a show on the BBC right after that - Children in Need, with Rob Brydon. I wasn't really upset with the BBC. But whoever was responsible made a mistake.
'There's a knockback right there, at my time of life - to prove to these young singers coming on the show that even I got a knockback, after all that time.

New look: ITV gave the panel a new age makeover
'Then you've got to think - it's their loss. I knew what the public felt because of the feedback I had.
'I lost out to a ventriloquist once - and she was terrible. 'I had to walk away from that.'
And the show's new look is not the only change.

While previously ever mentor had to turn around regardless of whether they pushed the buzzer having approved the contestants voice, no only those who hit the button get to see the contestant face-to-face.
And the prize has been given a makeover too, after previous winners failed to achieve hit records.

Speaking about more emphasis being placed on finding a hit song for the winner, Will I Am said: 'Really, it's all about song choice.

'It's because the songs they end up singing are like 'whatever'.'

Saturday's opening show sees a range of talented individuals taking to the stage in the hopes of impressing the panel.
Jenny Jones, 18, from Chester performs Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman, while Walsall native Jason Jones, 31, covers Zayn Malik's Pillow Talk.
Next Taylor Jones, 20 and Dane Lloyd, 25, from South Wales sing Into the Ark, and 18-year-old Diamond from Romford gives a stunning rendition of If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys.
Rachel Rose, 27, from Surrey opts for Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding and Jamie Grey, 28, from Teesside throws it back to the nineties with Never Ever by All Saints.
Truly Ford, 22, from London sings Dakota by Stereophonics, while Max Vickers, 24, from Warrington covers ‘You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon.
Lastly Mo, 21, from Warrington performs Iron Sky by Paolo Nutini.
The Voice coaches spoke to Capital breakfast ahead of the show's airing.
The show airs at 8pm on Saturday on ITV.
