The killer, who is from the east of the city, swerved to drive over the young soldiers, before reversing to make sure they were dead, trapping ten people under the truck. The surviving soldiers riddled the cab, firing at least 18 rounds at the terrorist, who was killed.

Iraq war veteran Esteban Santiago flew in from Alaska, retrieved a handgun from his checked luggage, then went on his murderous rampage on Friday. There was a heavy police presence afterwards, and disruptions at the airport were seen (left, a baby sleeping in a security tray during the delays). But most of the hundreds of police cars and SWAT vans were gone when it reopened at 5am on Saturday. Security is also beginning to go back to normal at airports where it was also heightened at other airports across the country in the wake of the shooting, including at LAX and New York's La Guardia (top right), JFK and Newark.

Houston duck hunters found dead after they were pulled from waters near Corpus Christi

Three men who went missing during a duck hunting trip have been found dead on Saturday. Spencer Hall, 19, Starett Burk, 25, and Christian Ruckman, 18, had their bodies pulled from waters near Carancahua Bay. They had died from hypothermia and one of the men was found underneath their 17-foot boat. A dog was also found with the bodies. Staffordshire terrier cross Kuta, circled in red, loves the ocean. She feels at home paddling with the dolphins at Esperance, off the West Australian coast. The two-year-old rescue dog also befriended a seal. Her owner Erin Cummings, pictured inset with Kuta, takes her paddleboarding every morning and occasionally has to call her to come back in.
