Top of the league, butt of the jokes! The Grand Tour's Jeremy Clarkson dupes Chelsea players after attempting to impress in £14,000 Mercedes hybrid
They may be top of the table, but Premiership giants Chelsea were the butt of Jeremy Clarkson’s rather forthright brand of humour during a recent skit on The Grand Tour.
The outspoken presenter, 56, attempted to impress the club’s superstar players after paying a visit to their Cobham training ground in his imposing, custom built £14,000 Mercedes SL and Land Rover Discovery.
But after a contingent of foreign players, amongst them Spanish striker Diego Costa, Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard and goalkeeping compatriot Thibaut Courtois, offered opinions in their native tongue, Clarkson slyly duped them with the aid of incorrect subtitles.

Banter: The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson duped Chelsea players Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa during a visit to their Cobham training ground
Indeed, in-form Costa's indifferent reaction to the vehicle was interpreted as 'I would swap every goal and every trophy to own one of these,' while Hazard's equally tame reaction was reinterpreted as the rather more enthusiastic 'Tomorrow morning I'm going to sell all of my cars and get one of these.'
Elsewhere statuesque Courtois' reaction was transformed into: 'What's perfect for me is that there's loads of headroom.'
England international Gary Cahill also fell foul of Clarkson's mirth after chastising the presenter for 'butchering a classic car,' with his negative comment reinterpreted as 'You've made an exquisite SUV.'

Amazon Prime subscribers are certainly getting more bang for their buck with The Grand Tour, as episode nine has yet more explosive scenes in it.
In Friday's episode, Clarkson and James May took their rivalry with Richard Hammond to new levels by blowing up his van up with a rocket.
Heading to Stuttgart, Germany, for the latest tent location, the trio looked to have upped the motoring mayhem following their Namibia beach buggy special.

England international Gary Cahill also fell foul of Clarkson's mirth after chastising the presenter for 'butchering a classic car,' with his negative comment reinterpreted as 'You've made an exquisite SUV'
The episode, titled Berks To The Future, found the trio preparing for the prospect of no speeding tickets whilst driving super cars on the motorway.
But it wasn't the cars stealing the spotlight, with Jeremy and James turning on Richard.
Heading to a 'top secret' location, Richard was seen driving around in a heavily modified van which he claimed was armour plated.

Bit extreme? In the brand new teaser for the hit show, Jeremy Clarkson and James May take their rivalry with Richard Hammond to new levels as they blow his van up with a rocket
All on his own: it's not the cars stealing the spotlight in the trailer for the ninth installment of series one, as it seems Jeremy and James have turned on Richard
Describing how 'safe' he felt, the scene promptly cut to the van exploding as a rocket propelled grenade hit it.
Stood gloating over the 'good shot' Clarkson and May made it their mission to try and destroy Richard's creation in was the trio's most dangerous challenge yet.
Another highlight saw the former Top Gear stars driving a convoy of supercars and rapid speed.
The episode also featured a new creation of Jeremy's, which appears to be a convertible MG MGB modified to be a convertible 4X4.
