Robert Dean Stockwell (born March 5, 1936) is an American actor of film and television, with a career spanning over 65 years. As a child actor under contract to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, he first came to the public's attention in films such as Anchors Aweigh and The Green Years; as a young adult, he played a lead role in the 1957 Broadway and 1959 screen adaptations of Meyer Levin's Compulsion, a novel based on the true-life story of Leopold and Loeb.
More recently, he became widely known for television roles, playing Rear Admiral Albert "Al" Calavicci in the 1989–93 NBC-TV Universal series Quantum Leap, and Brother Cavil in the Sci Fi Channel 21st-century revival of Battlestar Galactica. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Married to the Mob (1988).
Stockwell was born in North Hollywood, California, the younger son of Nina Olivette, an actress and dancer, and Harry Stockwell, an actor and singer. His elder brother was actor Guy Stockwell.
Quantum Leap is an American science fiction television series that originally aired on NBC for five seasons, from March 1989 through May 1993. Created by Donald P. Bellisario, it starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a physicist who leaps through spacetime during an experiment in time travel, by temporarily taking the place of other people in order to correct historical mistakes. Dean Stockwell co-stars as Admiral Al Calavicci, Sam's womanizing, cigar-smoking companion and best friend, who appears to him as a hologram.
The series features a mix of humor, drama, romance, social commentary, and science fiction, and was named one of TV Guide's "Top Cult Shows Ever."
The first episode introduces Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula), a scientist working on an experiment called "Project Quantum Leap" in a concealed laboratory in the southwestern desert of the United States, near the end of the 20th century. Beckett, with his team, theorize that time travel is possible within the traveler's own lifespan. With no successful results thus far, Admiral Al Calavicci (Dean Stockwell), Sam's long-time friend and senior officer on the program, is told by the government that they are looking to shut down the project's funding. Sam refuses to allow this, and before he can be stopped, enters the Quantum Leap Accelerator and leaps through spacetime.
Scott Stewart Bakula (/ˈbækjʊlə/; born October 9, 1954) is an American actor best known for his role as Sam Beckett on the television series Quantum Leap (for which he received four Emmy Award nominations and, in 1991, won a Golden Globe Award), for the role of Captain Jonathan Archer in Star Trek: Enterprise and currently portrays Special Agent Dwayne Cassius Pride on NCIS: New Orleans.
Bakula has also starred on the comedy-drama series Men of a Certain Age and guest-starred in seasons two and three of NBC's Chuck as the title character's father Stephen J. Bartowski. He also guest starred on HBO's Looking as entrepreneur Lynn.
Bakula was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Sally (née Zumwinkel) and J. Stewart Bakula, a lawyer. He has a younger brother and a younger sister. His surname comes from partial Croatian ancestry. He attended Jefferson College, followed by the University of Kansas for a time, but left, saying,
Bakula moved to New York City in 1976, where he made his Broadway debut playing baseball legend Joe DiMaggio in Marilyn: An American Fable, and appeared in the well-received Off-Broadway production Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down; he would later appear in its Pasadena Playhouse production. The success of Three Guys Off-Broadway brought him attention, and when his next show, the musical Nightclub Confidential, which co-starred his wife Krista Neumann, moved to Los Angeles, he moved there at the urging of his California agent, Maggie Henderson, and his New York agent, Jerry Hogan. As Bakula recalled in 2000,

This is the Ultimate Quantum Leap intro available because it's high quality, and more importantly because I edited out the episode clip, which changed from show to show, and just left the part you want to see- the opening of the show! The opening I chose to use was from season 4, which I feel was the best version because it featured all of the greatest clips from previous seasons, and it's just before season 5 ruined the opening with the horrible song change. Enjoy!!!
When Sam travels back in time into himself as a teen, he sings Imagine by John Lennon (before written) to prove to his kid sister he is from the future. The most amazing 2 part episode of the series. Surprised no one posted this up here. So I felt obligated to. Sorry for the non-registered trademark, the program screwed up downloading a codec. Can't fix it.

I'm so happy to finally have this done, it was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun!
