Meet the kids of hit TV show Stranger Things

For kids who grew up in the eighties, watching the latest hit television show Stranger Things is akin to being transported right back to childhood. The storyline of a missing boy is told in all its 1980s glory; beautifully-simple supernatural horror, with storytelling methods making a departure from the heavy, detail-laden methods we're currently used to.

Rather than being overtly indulgent in eighties immersion however, the show's historical setting is just part of the furniture, blended seamlessly into the story. Perhaps the only exception to this is the wonderfully cliched beginning with its evocative music and creepy title logo which has earned itself its own following and spurned a make-your-own generator - try it out here.

We of course just love the kids of Stranger Things who have become overnight stars and beloved by fans the world over in just eight episodes. Here's a run down on them.

Millie Bobby Brown who plays Eleven

Brown, 12, delivers a standout performance as Eleven. Born in Spain to British parents, the family moved to Florida in 2011 where Millie began acting workshops on Saturdays. According to IMDB a Hollywood scouting agent told her parents that Millie has "..instincts you cannot teach," so they packed up the family and moved to LA where Millie was offered representation by every agent they met with. Millie is an acting powerhouse (she also sings) so watch this space.

She recently posted a video of when she got all of her hair cut off for the role of Eleven.

Finn Wolfhard who plays Mike Wheeler

Finn is 13, from Canada and in the 8th grade at school. He has always wanted to be an actor and his brother Nick is also in the acting game. He is currently filming Stephen King's It with director Andrés Muschietti. Finn is pictured above with the Price twins, who share the role of Mike's little sister Holly.
 

Gaten Matarazzo who plays Dustin Henderson

Gaten, 14, tried out for the roles of Mike and Lucas but creators Matt and Ross Duffer insisted he was perfect for the role of Dustin who is the group's level-headed, open-minded character. Dustin has a condition called Cleidocranial dysplasia because Gaten has the condition in real life and they decided to write it into the show. It causes bone and clavical malformation which is why he has no front teeth. 

Caleb McLaughlin who plays Lucas Sinclair

Caleb is apparently much more chilled than Lucas, his hot-headed character who struggles with the supernatural nature of the circumstances in the story. He studied dance at The Harlem School of the Arts and has starred in Shades of Blue and Noah Dreams of Origami Fortunes.

Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers

While playing a much less present role because, he's, well, missing for almost the entire series, young actor Noah Schnapp is no stranger to fame. He has starred in The Peanuts Movie and hangs out with people like Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

Anniston and Tinsley Price who play Holly Wheeler

These adorable identical twins who steal our hearts away as Mike's baby sister Holly, are intuitive actors who improvised to great effect while filming. They are making quite a name for themselves and have roles in Allegiant and The Walking Dead.

These are some young acting names to watch and we're hoping that Netflix buys up the Duffer Brothers for a few advance seasons to come.
