Fraggle Rock to return to TV for a whole new audience

Jim Hensen's Fraggle Rock is coming back to television.
Jim Hensen's Fraggle Rock is coming back to television.

For those who grew up in the 80s, Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock was an after school ritual that saw us chowing down on snacks and dancing our cares away with Fraggles, Doozers, Gorgs and Doc and his dog Sprocket.

The news is that HBO is bringing Fraggle Rock back to its screens in HD, remastered, cleaned up and looking fab for modern audiences. It's a bit of a relief that they won't be trying to remake the famous series, which graced childhood screens for five seasons from 1983. No-one does it better than the late and very great Jim Henson - so remastering this much-loved series really was the best way.

For those of us who were fans first time around, it will be a joy to see our friends Gobo, Mokey, Red, Wembley and Boober again. For those not yet familiar with Fraggle Rock, here's a taster.

Get ready to fall in love with the feel-good, silly antics of the Fraggle Rock world all over again. We'll keep you posted about Australian release dates.
