Set in the flat, windswept expanse of the Fens, this little mound of earth known as Chapel Hill has intrigued archaeologists for years. The landowners have found ornately carved stone blocks around the hill, suggesting a religious building may once have stood on it - but they've also found beautiful flint axes that are at least 4000 years old.

The Ouse Valley Singles Club are a band that are heavily influenced by the traditional sounds of 1950's Skiffle but combine that with the energy of Rock and Roll and Punk. They are not a regular 'Jug and Bottle' type band, their sound is kind of New Wave Skiffle and has been described as "George Formby meets The Clash" and goes down well everywhere they play with a variety of audiences.
Humorous in nature the songs work well in any venue with both young and old...
They have played and been well received in pubs, clubs and festivals all over the UK. Locally they are regulars in Bedford's Esquires Music Venue where they are as popular with the Indie/Rock/Muso crowd as they are with your Real Ale afficiano's

Pipeline Through the Fens (1968) - extract.

This striking documentary focuses on the construction of the hidden conduit for North Sea gas lurking under the picturesque Norfolk fenland. 'Pipeline Through the Fens' was filmed during the 12 weeks in 1968 it took to lay 43 miles of pipeline under the county.
The film (made on behalf of The Gas Council) focuses on the considerable engineering achievement involved in linking sections of pipe (each one 40 feet long, 36 inches wide and weighing 4.5 tons) and burying them 9ft below the surface. The workers scrupulous care is understandable - you really wouldn't want to be trying to find a leak later on! (Emma Bonsall)

Fens Street Sewer:
More serial killers. The people I feel the most kinship with. So this is a sewer located just outside Diamond city, and it was the hunting ground of the fens phantom, a notorious pre war serial killer. They have arranged many sculptures throughout the sewer for the detective, who came alone, to find. Beside some of these are the dear detective holotapes where the phantom tells the detective how obsessed they are with them, and how the detective feels the same way. Their fate is unknown, however we discuss some of the possible theories during this episode.

The Fens
The Fens, also known as the Fenland(s), is a naturally marshy region in eastern England. Most of the fens were drained several centuries ago, resulting in a flat, damp, low-lying agricultural region.
A fen is the local name for an individual area of marshland or former marshland and also designates the type of marsh typical of the area, which has neutral or alkaline water chemistry and relatively large quantities of dissolved minerals, but few other plant nutrients.
Fenland primarily lies around the coast of the Wash; it reaches into four ceremonial counties: Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and a small area of Suffolk, as well as the historic county of Huntingdonshire. In whole it occupies an area of nearly 1,500 sq mi (3,900 km2).
Most of the Fenland lies within a few metres of sea level. As with similar areas in the Netherlands, much of the Fenland originally consisted of fresh- or salt-water wetlands, which have been artificially drained and continue to be protected from floods by drainage banks and pumps. With the support of this drainage system, the Fenland has become a major arable agricultural region in Britain for grains and vegetables. The Fens are particularly fertile, containing around half of the grade 1 agricultural land in England.

This striking documentary focuses on the construction of the hidden conduit for North Sea gas lurking under the picturesque Norfolk fenland. 'Pipeline Through the Fens' was filmed during the 12 weeks in 1968 it took to lay 43 miles of pipeline under the county.
The film (made on behalf of The Gas Council) focuses on the considerable engineering achievement involved in linking sections of pipe (each one 40 feet long, 36 inches wide and weighing 4.5 tons) and burying them 9ft below the surface. The workers scrupulous care is understandable - you really wouldn't want to be trying to find a leak later on! (Emma Bonsall)

More serial killers. The people I feel the most kinship with. So this is a sewer located just outside Diamond city, and it was the hunting ground of the fens phantom, a notorious pre war serial killer. They have arranged many sculptures throughout the sewer for the detective, who came alone, to find. Beside some of these are the dear detective holotapes where the phantom tells the detective how obsessed they are with them, and how the detective feels the same way. Their fate is unknown, however we discuss some of the possible theories during this episode.

The national rail station was first opened on 7th October 1848, this proved vital links to close Peterborough, Lincon and Boston to connect at further stations to go on the East Coast Main Line (ECML). The railway was the Great Northen Railway (GNR) which ran through Lincolnshire. In this episode we look at the historical town of spalding which is located in the heart of the fens. The national rail station was first opened on 7th October 1848, this proved vital links to close Peterborough, Lincon and Boston to connect at further stations to go on the East Coast Main Line (ECML). The railway was the Great Northen Railway (GNR) which ran through Lincolnshire.
Nowdays the station is still in good use only on Mondays to Saturdays and the station is owned by East Midlands Trains which run services on this line. The service goes from peterbrough to Lincon then connecting through to Doncaster.

On Day 10 in Taipei, Taiwan, Ying and I decided to take a day trip to Jiufen (of Jiu Fen) and on to Keelung City and have a day of eating Taiwanese street food. I’m extremely happy we had a chance to briefly visit both Jiufen and Keelung City. I’ll just quickly go over where and how we went from Taipei to Jiufen and then on to Keelung City using timecodes so you can come back to a location in the video easily if you want to.
0:38 How to Get from Taipei to Jiufen by Bus
Using the directly I read off Wikipedia travel guide, we took the Taipei Metro to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, then took exit 1 (Andong Street) and made an immediate u-turn, walked to the intersection and made a left, and then the bus stop was right there on the right hand side. We somehow arrived to the bus stop right as 1062 arrived and if Taiwan couldn’t make things any more easy and efficient we boarded the bus using our easy cards. The bus ride from Taipei central there to the small town of Jiufen took just over 1 hour, and we soon arrived in the touristy, but very beautiful and pleasant town of Jiufen - which is one of the biggest little tourist towns in Taiwan. You can choose to take a day trip to Jiufen from Taipei like we did, or you can even spend the night or a few nights there.
2:45 Taiwanese street food at Jiufen
Jiufen is a small little mountain town in Taiwan about 1 hour from Taipei with a great view of the ocean… and it’s turned into a major tourism destination. Although you can go there to do some shopping and buy some souvenirs, by far the main reason to go to Jiufen on a day trip is to eat as much Taiwanese street food and snacks as you can - and also there are plenty of sit-down restaurant you can eat at as well. Ying and I started our day of eating Taiwan street food by eating a plate of snails and a plate of grilled squid, both of which had quite a similar texture, and the flavor was delicious. After the snails and squid, I couldn’t resist having a Taiwanese tea egg, one of the most popular snacks. After walking around and taking loads of photos of the picturesque scenes around Jiufen, Ying and I stopped at a real restaurant to take a little break, cool down from the hot sun, and eat some more food - this time at a real restaurant. I tried a dish called three cup chicken, which was deliciously comforting. Another very famous food to eat in Jiufen is the sweet taro balls, which was pretty good.

After spending a few hours wandering around Jiufen, we took the bus from just up the road directly to Keelung City, one of the harbour towns in Taiwan, and about a 45 minute drive from Jiufen. The reason we wanted to go to Keelung City was to go to Keelung Miaokou Night Market, one of the most famous Taiwanese street food markets in Taiwan.

One of the most well known night markets in Taiwan is Keelung Miaokou Night Market, located right in Keelung City, and home to an abundance of delicious things to eat. I was actually still quite full from all the food we had already eaten in Jiufen, but I did manage to try a few things at the night market, and also I just really enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere of the market. Ying and I luckily got a table and chairs at a small street food stall serving long finger sized dumplings, which were similar to gyoza. They were filled with minced pork and lots of green onions. Along with a plate of pickled cucumbers, and a plate of tofu, they were some of the best potsticker style dumplings I had on my entire trip to Taiwan. I also tried crab soup, and a famous street food called a Nutritious Sandwich.
Day 10 in Taiwan, and eating all sorts of Taiwanese street food snacks in both Jiufen and Keelung City was an excellent day trip.

Chinese food is awesome! In Chongqing, you can find Chinese street food and all sorts of local specialties everywhere you go. These noodles were found in a tourist area yet had very local taste!

I was planning a trip to Chongqing for only one day, and did not intend on making a video, but just try all of the food as my time would be too limited. However, after sitting down in an alley to eat some street food; noodles, there were two girls beside me also eating the same noodles. I asked them if they always eat these and if they liked them, and then we started talking. It turned out that they had the whole day to explore and wanted to show me around. After a few hours traveling around with them, they told me that they both study videography and broadcasting in school, and then I mentioned my hobby of eating food and making videos. They were more than happy to help me out with this quick video before I caught my train that evening at 7:00.
If you visit Chongqing, you must see this little ancient town, known as little Chongqing, or as Ciqikou porcelain village. An ancient porcelain production spot, market town, and port. Now it is well preserved and has a lot of local specialty snacks. You can reach Ciqikou village very easy by taking subway line 1 and getting off at ciqikou station, it's that easy!
Chongqing is famous for it's hot pot and street food. There are so many things to try, and in my one day there, I can only say that I barely touched the surface. These suanlafen noodles were on the top of my list of food to try in Chongqing, as all my friends told me it was the most important thing to eat in Chongqing. The broth was sour, spicy, pungent, and the noodles were squishy, almost gooey, combined with the crunchiness of the soy beans and the tenderness of the big chunks of beef. What a nice meal!
