A Perth physical education teacher who allegedly had inappropriate photos of underage girls on his computer while working at a Perth public high school has been charged with child exploitation offences.
Police executed a search warrant at the 61-year-old Scarborough man's house in December in response to allegations he had taken photos of a girl.
The man's computer and electronic storage devices were seized.
"It will be alleged that the devices belonged to the man and that analysis of the devices identified images of child exploitation material," a police spokeswoman said.
"It is believed some of the images were taken while the man was employed as a physical education teacher at a public metropolitan high school however, the images do not relate to children who attended the school the man taught at.
"The investigation is ongoing with detectives continuing to analyse information from the seized storage device. Detectives will make contact with victims as they are identified.
"Members of the public who have any information relating to this incident are urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000."
The accused will face Perth Magistrates Court on January 12.
