Faces is a 1968 drama film, written and directed by John Cassavetes and starring John Marley, Cassavetes' wife Gena Rowlands, Fred Draper, Seymour Cassel and Lynn Carlin. Both Cassel and Carlin received Academy Award nominations for this film. Cassavetes was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Faces. The film was shot in high contrast 16 mm black and white film stock. In 2011, it was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
The film, shot in cinéma vérité-style, depicts the final stages of the disintegrating marriage of a middle-aged couple. We are introduced to various groups and individuals the couple interacts with after the husband, Richard Forst's (John Marley), sudden statement of his desire for a divorce. Afterwards, Richard spends the night in the company of brash businessmen and prostitutes, the wife with her middle-aged female friends and an aging, free-associating playboy they've picked up at a bar. The night proceeds as a series of tense conversations and confrontations occur, illustrating where the modern American lifestyle has failed to nourish the interests, love lives, and emotional/spiritual fulfillment of these characters. Nearly everyone we meet expresses deep dissatisfaction with their lives and also a resigned attitude to this malaise. The film offers little hope, only a suggestion that in this world merely understanding that we're unhappy or dissatisfied is a revelation.

Faces on Film (Mike Fiore), recently released his third album called Elite Lines. Beginning with borrowing one of his earlier songs to name this blog nearly five years ago (shit, 5 years!) -- I've sort of always found myself tied to his songs in one way or another. The album itself is all shades and variations of psychedelic guitar tones, rhythmic and sensual bass and on overarching clarity of vocals and lyricisms. Everything sounds more defined and courageous than before. Your Old One is a stand-out -- slide guitar, humming organ and echoed vocals as he sing, "it'd be no fun being your old one" and in a way, I know exactly what that means. Bad Star is equally satisfying in a more pulsing, meditative way, you really feel like you're getting somewhere and the final instrumental feels necess...

The East African Community is in a deep financial crisis with no money to run the activities of the community. The community financial reserves have run out and the EAC secretariat has resorted to using gratuity funds for lawmakers and the staff of the community to pay their salaries . The funding crisis stems from partner states defaulting on the their annual contribution as well as donors who were funding the community to a tune of 70 percent of the community’s budget pulling out . This has forced lawmakers of the East African legislative assembly to invoke articles of the East African Community treaty calling for suspension of member states who are defaulting on their contribution. This is the final rollicking concert of the legendary Faces featuring a high powered performance from Keith Richards, Rod Stewart himself shakin' his booty like there's no tomorrow, and a string section for a little class. Although Rod went on to bigger success, many say his association with Faces was the musical highpoint of his career and this concert is the cinematic proof. Stewart and his Faces group were joined on-stage by Rolling Stones stalwart Keith Richard. For the record, "Faces" consisted of Ron Wood (guitar) Ian McLaglan (keyboard), future Who member Kenny Jones (drums) and Tetsu Yamauchi (replacing Ronnie Lane on bass). Comment Like & Share ! Thank you !

The complete Faces album released in 1973 including many of their best songs. I would say it's their best studio album. In early March 2008, a miracle occurred in remote rural India. A baby, seemingly in perfect health, was born with two faces. Worshipped as a goddess, both mother and baby were said to be in good health. But how long can she (or they) survive? This moving film follows the baby from an incredibly early point in her life. We see the diagnosis, the treatment, and watch as her parents have to make vital decisions to try and ensure the survival of their child. Want to watch more full-length Documentaries? I dreamed my life was done
I stood before god's son
It was time to see what my reward would be
With love he reviewed my life
To count what was done for christ
For that is what will last eternally
See I'd done my best to share
That jesus really cares
And he would save if they just believe
Oh, but seldom did harvest come
And so few did I see won
Until the lord said, "turn around and see."
Then he showed me the faces of the ones who'd come because of me
So many faces that my life had led to calvary
All those years I thought nobody saw as I labored in lowly places
That's when jesus smiled and showed me all the faces.
He said though you did not see the yield,
You were faithful to plow the field
At other times you helped me plant the seed
No matter how small the task, you did just as I asked
And thanks to you these souls have been set free.
Then he showed me the faces of the ones who'd come because of me
So many faces that my life had led to calvary
All those years I thought nobody saw as I labored in lowly places
That's when jesus smiled and showed me all the faces.
And for those years you thought
Nobody saw as you labored in lowly places
One day he'll smile and show you all the faces.
... the faces... you'll see their faces.
