Nowra man attacked in his own home

A man has been hospitalised with facial injuries and neck bruising after being attacked by two men during an attempted robbery in his Nowra home.

The 55-year-old was inside his bedroom when he heard a knock at the door.

Police said the man answered the door and was pushed to the ground by two men demanding money.

He was physically assaulted before the intruders left.

It is unknown whether any money or property was taken.

The man was treated by paramedics and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital with facial injuries and bruising to his back and neck.

Police are searching for the two intruders, who were last seen running north on East Street.

The first man was described as of Caucasian appearance, aged 18 to 25, between 180 and 190cm tall, of medium build and wearing dark clothing and a grey back pack.

The second male was described as of Caucasian appearance, about 170 to 175cm tall, of solid build with a goatee beard. He was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with dash cam footage or who witnessed the males running across East Street or the Princes Highway is urged to come forward.
