Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson would have plenty of worries after that match. Their forwards were dominated in the set piece. The scrum was not competitive and the lineout was shabby. The classy backs of the Waratahs is what scored them the win.
The Reds tried hard. Nick Frisby was outstanding and Greg Holmes' work at the scrum was telling. They do lack vision in attack although they boast several players who are dangerous in one-on-one situations or in broken play.
The Reds lack structure in attack which played into the hands of the Waratahs defence which was outstanding.

The Tahs win 30-10 over the Reds. It was four tries to one and that means the Tahs score a bonus point under the new rules. They would have also scored a bonus point under the old rules but the ending would have been anti-climactic.

Controversy! It's uncontested scrums as the Waratahs say they have no fit props to cover for Tilse. Not a good look for rugby.
Back to top78th min: It's yellow card time as Jeremy Tilse is sent packing as the Reds seven-man scrum towels up the full contigent of Waratahs. Now it is seven on seven.
77th min: And the scrum goes down again. It's not clear that the Tahs are at fault so the scrum is reset.
76th min: And another scrum penalty for the Reds. We are getting close to penalty try and sin-binning territory. Feel sorry for the props. The Tahs held them for a good a 20 seconds before that collapse. But laws are laws.
75th min: The Tahs scrum under pressure again and the penalty is conceded under the posts.

71st min: And already the Tahs are under pressure after the TMO intervenes with a "neck roll" call. Reds have the lineout throw five metres out.
69th min: Another yellow card to the Reds as replacement prop Sam Talakai is pinged for cynical play. He tackled Matt Lucas inside the 10 after the Tahs halfback took a quick tap. Bryce Hegarty kicks the penalty. WARATAHS 30 REDS 10.
Bizarre decision as the Tahs need another try to shore up the bonus point, they don't need three points to shore up the win.
68th min: The match is lacking a bit of urgency at the moment, but there is still a bit to play for. The Waratahs cannot afford for the Reds to score more tries than they do over the final 12 minutes otherwise they will lose the bonus point.
67th min: Another scrum penalty to the Reds. The Waratahs are now trailing 12-8 in the penalty count, but they were awarded the first five.
65th min: Kurtley Beale is off for a concussion test after a late hit by Ayumu Goromaru when the Tahs five-eighth kicked through for Phipps' try.
