Flood Warning for the North Kimberley District

Flood Warning Number: 3

A trough of low pressure extends from the inland Pilbara through to a tropical
low over the Kimberley. The tropical low is likely to move slowly southwest
through the west Kimberley during the week and into the Pilbara over the
weekend.

Isolated heavy rainfall totals up to 122 mm have been recorded in the North
Kimberley catchments for the 24 hours to 9 am Thursday. Whilst widespread
rainfall is not forecast, further isolated heavy rainfall totals are possible
in the 24 hours to 9 am Friday.

North Kimberley District:
Significant stream rise and areas of flooding are expected to continue in the
following catchments during Thursday into Friday:
Keep River
Pentecost River
Drysdale River
King Edward River

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and
be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers
need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel
plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and
velocity.
