Designs a creative welcome display at WordSkills competition

VISUAL merchandising students from the Kangan Institute have designed an artistic installation for Australia’s largest trades and skills contest.

The group, including Meadow Heights‘ Nicoleta Bilous, created the installation for the WorldSkills Australia National Competition’s opening ceremony.

The Melbourne Showgrounds event from October 6-8 included 500 participants from across the country showcasing their talents in everything from plumbing to fashion design.

Ms Bilous, 19, said the Kangan installation was themed “all things Melbourne”.

She and the other students painted a tram on a foam board, with a skyscraper behind in rainbow colours, Luna Park and street art images.
