A man allegedly six times the blood alcohol limit with his teenage son in the front of the car later jumped out of a police vehicle and began abusing officers in south-east Queensland.
The 44-year-old man was pulled over on New Year's Eve for a roadside breath test in Witherin.
He gave a reading of 0.3 per cent blood alcohol concentration, six times the 0.05 per cent limit, police said.
As officers were driving his son home, the Labrador man jumped out of the police car and hurled abuse at them, they said.
He has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and obstructing police.
Police charged a total of 73 motorists for drink driving, 46 for drug driving and another 1500 for speeding on December 31.
