Weather Situation

A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the Queensland coast and a low pressure system west of Tasmania is moving southeast. A hot northerly airstream is being directed over New South Wales between these two systems. A trough of low pressure associated with the low is expected to move slowly through the southwest of the state over the next few days, bringing milder southerly winds. It is expected to reach the central part of the coast during Saturday and the far north coast on Monday.

Cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers, becoming less likely this evening. A thunderstorm likely during this afternoon and evening. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h tending west to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h during the morning and early afternoon. Daytime maximum temperatures 24 to 31.
