International of Anarchist Federations declares support for J20

International of Anarchist Federations (IFA/IAF) declares its support for J20 protest and actions against Donald Trump.

English

#DisruptJ20

As International of Anarchist Federations (IAF-IFA), we support the demonstrations planned to take place during the inauguration of Donald Trump, 20 January 2017.

It should go without saying that we do not support Hilary Clinton or any other politician : we know they are both faces of capitalism, racism and war. But the inauguration of Trump means the legitimisation of white supremacism, neo-nazism and mysoginy.

We don't give a damn about élections ; the change we fight for will be archived only by ourselves, trought direct action.

We expect nothing from politicians but suffering, exploitation and oppression.

We stand with all those experiencing police attacks, racist murders and sexist violence.

In solidarity,

CRIFA, Marseille, 3-4 December 2016

‬In solidarietà,

‬CRIFA‭ ‬(Commissione Relazioni dell’Internazionale delle Federazioni Anarchiche‭)
riunita a Marsiglia il‭ ‬3-4‭ ‬dicembre‭ ‬2016

Seems like a standard issue Leftist statement.
Are the Republican party really some sort of manifestation of "neo-nazism"?
And would there have been any demos against the inauguration of a Democratic Party president?

I'm sort of with you, Rat, I don't see much value in an inauguration demo - or, really, any demo for demo's sake. And no, despite the fact that Trump has mainstreamed white supremacist voices in a way unseen since the Civil Right Movement, the Republican party is not fascist.

What is true, however, is that there are left/anarchist demonstrations at every inauguration - Republican and Democratic alike. In fact, when it was assumed Hilary would win, there was talk of Bernie supporters holding protests from day one to 'push her toward a progressive agenda' or some shit like that.

Let's not forget the "Hope Bloc" of 2008. A number of more well known leftists and anarchists signed a statement calling for a non-disruptive demo in solidarity with people who had hope for Obama. Rat has a point.
