What the left conservative writers (such as Yoshie Furuhashi, Mike Whitney, Pepe Escobar, et. al.) are advocating for Syria is the re-introduction of colonialism. Of course, they don’t call it that, but that’s exactly what they are advocating.
It must not even strike them as bizarre that all manner of decisions about the situation in Syria are not even announced by the Assad government officials anymore, but by Russian officials, and if not them, by Iranians. I wish these conservative ‘leftists’ would use the correct terminology and just call their desired scheme for Syria by its real name: Colonialism for Syria, NOW!

Thank you for naming the names of those on the “Left” who support this horrendous madness of Syria, As’ad, Hisb’ullah, The Islamic Republic and Puitn’s Russia. Long live the people of Syria, the new Nakba of the Arabs.
