The Beechers
The poisoning of American evangelicalism.
This is a lecture exploring the legacy of Lyman Beecher and his famous children, with a particular emphasis on Henry Ward Beecher, who changed the face of American religion and popularized virtually every bad philosophy, bad practice, and bad approach to preaching that is currently popular in the American evangelical movement.

Battle of Beecher Island – 1868 – American Indian Wars
The Battle of Beecher Island, also known as the Battle of Arikaree Fork, was an armed conflict between elements of the United States Army and several of the Plains native American tribes in September 1868. Beecher Island, on the Arikaree River, then known as part of the North Fork of the Republican River, near present-day Wray, Colorado, was named afterwards for Lieutenant Fredrick H. Beecher, an army officer killed during the battle.
Background
In the summer and fall of 1868, continuing their annual seasonal raiding activities between the Arkansas and Platte Rivers in what was also the region of their best buffalo hunting, bands of Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians conducted raids against whites throughout the western Great Plains in Kansas. In addition, they found incentive in the warfare tha...

Bonnie Beecher on Dylan emulating Woody Guthrie, Minneapolis, MN (02)
This is an excerpt from an amateur video (VHS) "documentary" by Markus Wittman, early 1990s -- I noticed that this interview of Bonnie Beecher (Jahanara Romney), believed to have been Bob Dylan's "Girl From The North Country" and immortalised in "Bonnie Why'd You Cut My Hair", was transcribed -- although DEFINITELY NOT 100 PER CENT ACCURATELY -- for the British Dylan fanzine The Telegraph.
For that reason, I would welcome a complete video or audio for my archives.
Bonnie recalls Dylan's obsession with Woody Guthrie, adopting an Okie accent, etc., Minneapolis, MN, early 1960s.
