Girl, 15, charged over Boxing Day stabbing

A 15-year-old girl has been charged over the stabbing of a man and a woman in at a home in central Queensland early on Boxing Day.

Police allege about 1am the girl went into a bedroom of a house in the Rockhampton suburb of Park Avenue and stabbed a 46-year-old woman before stabbing a 44-year-old man.

The woman, with stab wounds to her neck, chest and legs, was taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The man suffered stab wounds to his chest and leg, and was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the girl and the victims are known to each other and live at the same address.

A 15-year-old Park Avenue girl has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of unlawful wounding.
