Dangal (English: Wrestling) is an upcoming Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It stars Aamir Khan portraying the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. The former is India's first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 kg) while her sister Babita Kumari won the silver (51 kg). "Dangal" is the Hindi term for "a wrestling competition".
The music for Dangal is composed by Pritam, while lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Kripa Shankar Bishnoi, a coach with the Indian women's wrestling team, has trained Aamir Khan and the entire crew for the wrestling sequences.
Dangal is scheduled to release on 23 December 2016.

Aamir Khan's Dangal trailer is finally out and it has already created a buzz around social media.
The trailer is a sure shot winner and will surely give you chills.
While Aamir is all geared up for his movie, there was another movie this year which took the limelight and that was Salman Khan's Sultan.
Comparisons between Sultan and Dangal are bound to happen as they are both based on wrestling.
From the Haryanvi accent to the movie and trailer stills, there are a couple of parts that are strikingly similar.
Here’s taking a look at some similarities between Aamir’s Dangal and Salman’s Sultan.
The start of the trailer
Interestingly, both the trailers start with Salman and Aamir wrestling
The Scooter Scene
There is a scene in Sultan where Salman is seen riding a scooter and a similar sequence was seen with Aamir in Dangal.
Wrestling scenes
Fatima’s wrestling scene in the Dangal trailer somehow reminds us of Anushka’s in Sultan. They are not exactly identical but somehow similar.
Haryanvi Accent
Both Salman and Aamir have adapted the Haryanvi accent to perfection.
Aamir and Salman's before and after look
Both went through an impressive physical transformation for their roles as wrestlers.
Akhada - Traditional wrestling ring
The Akhada shot is very similar in both and will make you whistle, clap and jump off your seats for sure!
After these similarities, it's no wonder that the director of Sultan, Ali Abbas Zafar wanted to name his film Dangal earlier!

Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan (pronounced [ˈaːmɪr ˈxaːn]; born Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan on 14 March 1965) is an Indian film actor, director and producer. Through his successful career in Hindi films, Khan has established himself as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including four National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards. He was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri in 2003 and the Padma Bhushan in 2010.
Khan first appeared on screen as a child actor in his uncle Nasir Hussain's film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973). His first feature film role came with the experimental film Holi (1984), and he began a full-time acting career with a leading role in the highly successful tragic romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). His performance in the film and in the thriller Raakh (1989) earned him a Special Mention at the National Film Award ceremony. He established himself as a leading actor of Hindi cinema in the 1990s by appearing in several commercially successful films, including the romantic drama Dil (1990), the romance Raja Hindustani (1996), for which he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and the drama Sarfarosh (1999). He was also noted for playing against type in the critically acclaimed Canadian-Indian film Earth (1998).
