Police are investigating after a 37-year-old Wembley man died after falling overboard from his boat off the coast of Rottnest Island on Boxing Day morning.
Two men were on board a vessel when their boat struck rough seas north west of Cathedral Rocks at around 6.30am and they fell overboard.
The boat struck one of the men, causing life-threatening injuries.
The two men were rescued by another boat in the area and Water Police and the Rottnest Ranger attended but despite first aid attempts the man died from his injuries.
