Man held captive and tortured at Logan home for 20 hours

Two men have been charged after a man was held captive for 20 hours and tortured at a Logan residence, police say.

Police said a 42-year-old man had gone to a home on Kim Street, Marsden to inquire about buying a motorcycle from people he knew about 10pm Friday.

He was then held captive and assaulted with unknown implements and burnt with an unknown substance for a 20-hour period, police said. He was also allegedly robbed during the ordeal.

The man managed to run from the home about 5pm on Christmas Eve to raise the alarm at a nearby house and was taken to Beaudesert Hospital for treatment to bruises, lacerations and burns.

A Marsden man, 48, and a Crestmead man, 29, were charged with torture, deprivation of liberty, acts intended to maim/disfigure/disable, armed robbery in company using personal violence and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The pair were denied police bail and are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police were investigating.
