Hereford (i/ˈhɛrᵻfərd/) is a cathedral city, civil parish and county town of Herefordshire, England. It lies on the River Wye, approximately 16 miles (26 km) east of the border with Wales, 24 miles (39 km) southwest of Worcester, and 23 miles (37 km) northwest of Gloucester. With a population of 53,516 people, it is the largest settlement in the county.
The name "Hereford" is said to come from the Anglo-Saxon "here", an army or formation of soldiers, and the "ford", a place for crossing a river. If this is the origin it suggests that Hereford was a place where a body of armed men forded or crossed the Wye. The Welsh name for Hereford is Henffordd, meaning "old road", and probably refers to the Roman road and Roman settlement at nearby Stretton Sugwas.
An early town charter from 1189 granted by Richard I of England describes it as "Hereford in Wales". Hereford has been recognised as a city since time immemorial, with the status being reconfirmed as recently as October 2000.

Plot: Ross Bodine and Frank Post are cowhands on Walt Buckman's R-Bar-R ranch. Bodine is older and broods a bit about how he will get along when he's too old to cowboy. Post is young and rambunctious and ambitious for a better life than wrangling cows. When one of their fellow cowboys is killed in a corral accident, Post suggests a way into a better life for himself and his friend: robbing a bank. Bodine reluctantly joins in the plan and the two contrive to rob the local bank. They make good their escape initially, but Walt Buckman and his two sons, John and Paul, are incensed at this betrayal by their own trusted employees. John and Paul set out to bring Bodine and Post to justice.

Welcome to my first upload. This was mainly created to allow me to get a feel for my new cameras and for brushing up on my editing skills, but I will continue to share trip diaries with you as I travel the country alongside the other, feature-specific videos which I will be making. This trip took place between February 17th and 20th 2015, and I travelled from my home town in Bexhill to visit friends in Hereford, Carlisle and Inverness. This video shows my journey, what I saw, and how I travelled. I hope you enjoy watching it. Continuing our adventure we travel through Wales, then onto Herefordshire and Shropshire in the greatest day's driving of my life so far! The Retro Lab's Spring Break was an 896 mile, 4 day adventure which saw us attempt to travel from Lands End to the Lake District via Wales, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales, without using the motorway. Filmed on a JVC Everio GZ-HM655 and a Sony camcorder I can't remember the name of. Music by Retarded Cunt. An open canoe trip down the River Wye, hammock camping and wildlife watching along the way. Day 1 Hereford to Hoarwithy. It was baking hot in July, but just before the school holidays meant I had the river to myself. Watch Day 2: http://youtu.be/sOBYC6bpv2k
As I walked around Hereford, the camera revealed the history of the place .Many a sight to inspire.
Too many miles I have traveled all alone
show me the road that leads to my home,
Strangers, strangers, everywhere I roam
Show me the road that leads to my home
Trouble, trouble, trouble on my mind
Show me the road that leads to my home,
Finding precious little peace, and losing precious time
Show me the road that leads to my home
Chorus
Show me a sign, tell me a reason
Cold winds have scattered the seeds I've sown
Oh, just let me live to see another morning
And show me the road that leads to my home
Such a long, long journey it seems we've traveled on
Show me the road that leads to my home
Such a short time here friends, and such a long time gone
Show me the road that leads to my home
Chorus
Rememberin' just the good times, feeling just the pain
Show me the road that leads to my home
I'm hearing just the sad songs, seeing just the rain
Show me the road that leads to my home
Chorus
