Birkenhead
Coordinates: 53°23′35″N 3°00′50″W / 53.393°N 3.014°W / 53.393; -3.014
Birkenhead /ˌbɜːrkənˈhɛd/ is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England. Historically in Cheshire, it is on the Wirral Peninsula, along the west bank of the River Mersey, opposite the city of Liverpool. At the 2001 Census, the town had a population of 83,729. By the time of the 2011 census Birkenhead had become an electoral ward of the Local Authority called Birkenhead and Tranmere. The total population of this ward taken at the 2011 Census was 15,879 Birkenhead is perhaps best known as a centre for ship building, as a seaport and its related industries.
History
Toponymy
The name Birkenhead probably means "headland overgrown with birch", from the Old English bircen meaning birch tree, of which many once grew on the headland which jutted into the river at Woodside. The name may also be related to the Birket, a stream which enters the Mersey between Birkenhead and Seacombe.

This is Birkenhead to Takapuna Beach in 60 seconds.
I live on Auckland's North Shore and I think we can all agree that this is the most magic spot on the planet.
Takapuna Beach is very special to me, as I owned a retail service business in Takapuna, for 10 years.
I was literally 1 minutes walk to the beach, and that's where I'd disappear to at lunch time. Ok, who am I kidding, business owners don't take lunch breaks haha.
But those times when you need to get the hell away from everything, the park bench at the end of Sanders Avenue, on Takapuna Beach is where I used to go (on the right as I drive up to the Takapuna Beach front).
Takapuna is not only one of the highest capital growth areas on Auckland's North Shore, along with the all the beaches here, it's a brilliant place to live.

With its easy access, family-friendly setting and soft white sand, Takapuna is one of the popular beaches in Auckland’s North Shore.
The visitors can get a fabulous view of Rangitoto Island and beyond. Emerging from the sea just 600 years ago, pest-free Rangitoto Island is the youngest volcano in New Zealand.
The walkway to Milford beach is full of challenges as you have to walk through rough and uneven black rocks which were formed by the cooled down lava flows erupted from the volcano.
