An unborn baby has died and three people were injured in a two-car crash on the Fraser Coast on Saturday night.
Police said preliminary investigations indicated a Mitsubishi sedan was driving south on Booral Road at Booral when it struck the side of a van travelling northbound about 6.45pm.

The sedan lost control, veered into the path of an oncoming Toyota sedan and the two collided, police said.
The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old pregnant woman, was rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital with serious injuries, and tragically lost her unborn baby as a result of the crash, police said.
One of the four passengers in the Toyota, a 58-year-old woman, and the driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, a 45-year-old woman, were both taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No-one else was injured in the crash.
In a separate incident, a woman and a baby were rushed to hospital and a man suffered injuries in a horrific crash at Moreton Bay early Sunday morning.
Police said initial investigations suggested the family was driving west along Anzac Avenue at Kallangur when its vehicle swerved off the road and down an embankment about 4.30am.

The car clipped a concrete pylon and crashed into a creek between Brays Road and the Bruce Highway, reportedly narrowly missing a natural gas pipe.
The woman, 35, had to be cut free from the vehicle and was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A baby, believed to be about 18-months-old, was rushed to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier on Saturday, a motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after he swerved off Duchess Road at Mount Isa about 4pm.
He suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incidents.
The death brings Queensland's road toll up to 17 since December 9, with Queensland's 2016 road toll up to 246, 10 more fatalities than this time last year.
