About me:
Keep up to date with what is going on with the CCU Chicagocouriersunion.org email the CCU: chicagocouriersunion@gmail.com The Chicago Couriers Union (CCU) is a union for all messengers. We are bikers, drivers, dispatchers, walkers, office workers, and internal messengers. Together we are building this union from the ground up, and we need your to help make this industry a better place to work. We are striving to establish control over the acceptable working standards in this industry – fair wages and working conditions, job security, dignity, and respect. But even more importantly, we are actively building a network of solidarity whose members look out for each other no matter what. We say that an injury to any one of us is an injury to all of us. We understand that by organizing across the industry and sticking together we can accomplish more than we ever could alone. That is what we mean when we say “union” – not high dues or contributions to politicians, not corruption and union bureaucracy. In the CCU, we are the union. It’s not an outside agency, but rather an organization of workers coming together to think about our needs and desires, our interests at work, and collectively working to achieve those things. With the amount of turnover in the messenger industry, we need a fluid and flexible organization, and the CCU provides that – you carry your CCU membership with you to any company (even if you leave the industry, you can stay a member of the union). The union is built across the industry, with branches in each company, where they are responding to grievances and working to build up the union at that particular workplace. Unlike most unions, you don’t have to wait for the boss and the union to bargain out your membership, nor are you ever forced to join. The invitation to join our union is open to all workers in the messenger industry who want to see change and to fight for it.Who I'd like to meet:

How are you,
thanks for the request.
Thanks for supporting the Stop Firestone campaign and for all that you do! 80 years of exploitation on Firestone's rubber plantation in Liberia is enough! Check out www.stopfirestone.org for more information.
