UNDOUBTEDLY, 2016 has been Year of the Shade in Hollywood.
From feuds involving Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift, to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and the Fast 8 cast — there’s been more shade provided on the internet than in a window blind shop.
Here are some of the very best:
KIM KARDASHIAN — TAYLOR SWIFT
Just in case you’ve been living under several rocks for the past few months, Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift are not best friends.
Their feud reached a sensational crescendo in July this year when Kardashian leaked a private phone conversation between Swift and her husband, Kanye West.
The bombshell recording proved the rapper had gotten the Shake It Off singer’s permission to release the controversial song Famous — despite her denials.
Swift then released a statement, drawing on some technicalities, and a number of Hollywood starlets added to the pile-on by taking sides.
In summary: it was the ultimate shade situation.
DWAYNE JOHNSON — VIN DIESEL
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson brought his feud with Vin Diesel into the public arena by posting an exceptionally shady Instagram, blasting his male Fast 8 co-stars.
“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” he wrote.
“The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”
It was later revealed by TMZ that Johnson was referring to Diesel who he allegedly butted heads with on the set of the film.
JOHN MAYER — TAYLOR SWIFT
Kim Kardashian wasn’t the only celebrity throwing shade at Taylor Swift this year.
The singer’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer sent out an exceptionally snarky tweet on her birthday last week.
Far from using the social media site to post a celebratory message as she turned 27, he updated his status to write: “Tuesday, December 13 may be the lamest day of the year, conceptually.”
Uh. John Mayer just tweeted and deleted this. But thank God for screenshots 😁 #HappyBirthdayTaylorSwift pic.twitter.com/VPUqCX8eJ1

After his faux pas was widely reported, the Gravity hit maker defended himself on Twitter, insisting he meant “no shade.”
Uh-huh.
PERRIE EDWARDS — ZAYN
There’s no mistaking who Little Mix’s song Shout Out To My Ex is all about.
In the explosive girl power anthem, singer Perrie Edwards takes aim at her ex-fiance, Zayn Malik — and admits she’s unsure whether she loved him at all.
Plus, referring to Zayn’s new model girlfriend Gigi Hadid on the track, she sings: “I hope she gettin’ better sex, hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe.”
Oh, the SHADE.
LADY GAGA — CHAINSMOKERS
Lady Gaga had the perfect shady response to fellow musicians The Chainsmokers, after they criticised her single Perfect Illusion in a Rolling Stone interview.
When she released her follow-up single AYO, she cheekily suggested they may prefer that song.
