The video shows ILS approach, landing and taxi of a heavy business jet Challenger 604 on runway 27 of Cochin International Airport (IATA: COK, ICAO: VOCI). This is an international airport situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Located at Nedumbassery, about 30 km northeast of Kochi. Surprisingly 90% of the travellers come from south of the airport. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. For the financial year 2014-15, Cochin airport is the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of international passenger traffic after Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and seventh busiest airport in India. The airport is a primary base for Air India Express operations and is a focus city for Air Asia India, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.
Cochin Airport is the first in India developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and was funded by nearly 10,000 non-resident Indians from 30 countries.
On August 18, 2015 it became the world's first fully solar energy powered airport with the inauguration of the dedicated solar plant.
IFR approach on the video carried out by hot evening in calm conditions. Taxiing ends on the parking stand number 15.
The video was filmed by GoPro 3 camera.

Some of shots of Cochin or Kochi, as it is sometimes called, taken during our our trip there in January 2011. Fort Cochin is the main tourist area and has many historical buildings. Hotels in Fort Cochin can be expensive and we stayed in an hotel near the Main Boat Jetty at Perumanoor and travelled to Fort Cochin by boat ferry. We did not however anticipate the long queues to get on a boat, these long queues were in part due to the fact that several boats were not operational. I had the impression this was not unusual. The boat trip and even the queuing was a great experience.

Kochi
Kochi ([koˈtʃːi ]), also known as Cochin (KO-chin), is a major port city on the south-west coast of India by the Arabian Sea and is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala. It is often called Ernakulam, which refers to the mainland part of the city. With a total metropolitan population of 2.1 million. It is the second largest city corporation in Kerala, with a corporation limit population of 612,343 and is part of an extended metropolitan region, which is the largest urban agglomeration in the state. Kochi city is also a part of the Greater Cochin region and is classified as a Tier-II city by the Government of India. The civic body that governs the city is the Cochin Municipal Corporation, which was constituted in the year 1967, and the statutory bodies that oversee its development are the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) and the Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA).
Known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, Kochi was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century. Occupied by the Portuguese in 1503, Kochi was the first of the European colonies in colonial India. It remained the main seat of Portuguese India until 1530, when Goa was chosen instead. The city was later occupied by the Dutch and the British, with the Kingdom of Cochin becoming a princely state. Kochi ranks first in the total number of international and domestic tourist arrivals in Kerala. Kochi has been ranked the sixth best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted by the Nielsen Company on behalf of the Outlook Traveller magazine. Kochi was one of the 28 Indian cities found to be among the emerging 440 global cities that will contribute 50% of the world GDP by the year 2025, in a 2011 study done by the McKinsey Global Institute.

Some of shots of Cochin or Kochi, as it is sometimes called, taken during our our trip there in January 2011. Fort Cochin is the main tourist area and has many historical buildings. Hotels in Fort Cochin can be expensive and we stayed in an hotel near the Main Boat Jetty at Perumanoor and travelled to Fort Cochin by boat ferry. We did not however anticipate the long queues to get on a boat, these long queues were in part due to the fact that several boats were not operational. I had the impression this was not unusual. The boat trip and even the queuing was a great experience.

This is an international airport situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Located at Nedumbassery, about 30 km northeast of Kochi. Surprisingly 90% of the travellers come from south of the airport. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. For the financial year 2014-15, Cochin airport is the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of international passenger traffic after Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and seventh busiest airport in India. The airport is a primary base for Air India Express operations and is a focus city for Air Asia India, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.
Cochin Airport is the first in India developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and was funded by nearly 10,000 non-resident Indians from 30 countries.
On August 18, 2015 it became the world's first fully solar energy powered airport with the inauguration of the dedicated solar plant.
IFR approach on the video carried out by hot evening in calm conditions. Taxiing ends on the parking stand number 15.

В аэропорту функционирует два терминала: внутренний и международный. Наземные операции осуществляет Air India.
На видео инструментальный заход выполнялся жарким безветренным вечером, при слабой дымке. Руление заканчивается на стоянке номер 15 перрона аэропорта.

The video shows ILS approach, landing and taxi of a heavy business jet Challenger 604 on runway 27 of Cochin International Airport (IATA: COK, ICAO: VOCI). This is an international airport situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Located at Nedumbassery, about 30 km northeast of Kochi. Surprisingly 90% of the travellers come from south of the airport. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. For the financial year 2014-15, Cochin airport is the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of international passenger traffic after Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and seventh busiest airport in India. The airport is a primary base for Air India Express operations and is a focus city for Air Asia India, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.
Cochin Airport is the first in India developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and was funded by nearly 10,000 non-resident Indians from 30 countries.
On August 18, 2015 it became the world's first fully solar energy powered airport with the inauguration of the dedicated solar plant.
IFR approach on the video carried out by hot evening in calm conditions. Taxiing ends on the parking stand number 15.

ВПП длиной 3400 м оборудована для приёма любых типов самолётов, находящихся в коммерческой эксплуатации на сегодняшний день.
Кочин наряду с немногими другими индийскими аэропортами, такими как Мумбаи, Дели, Ченнай, Бангалор и Хайдарабад может принимать большие самолёты типа Airbus A380.
В аэропорту функционирует два терминала: внутренний и международный. Наземные операции осуществляет Air India.
На видео инструментальный заход выполнялся жарким безветренным вечером, при слабой дымке. Руление заканчивается на стоянке номер 15 перрона аэропорта.

Some of shots of Cochin or Kochi, as it is sometimes called, taken during our our trip there in January 2011. Fort Cochin is the main tourist area and has many historical buildings. Hotels in Fort Cochin can be expensive and we stayed in an hotel near the Main Boat Jetty at Perumanoor and travelled to Fort Cochin by boat ferry. We did not however anticipate the long queues to get on a boat, these long queues were in part due to the fact that several boats were not operational. I had the impression this was not unusual. The boat trip and even the queuing was a great experience.

Backwaters
============
Backwaters of Kerala are a maze of lagoons criss-crossed with rivers, shallow pools and canals, all separated from the sea by a narrow strip of sand banks. In many places, the backwaters connect to form large lakes. Backwaters are present throughout the state Astamudi Lake is highly unique due to its topography. This is the most beautiful backwater of Kerala
The annual Vallam Kali boat races take place in the backwaters. The boats are large wooden canoes that can accommodate 60 to 100 rowers. The most famous race is for the Nehru Trophy Vallam Kalli, held on the second Saturday of August as a tribute to the former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who had a keen interest in this sport.
Mountains
=======
The Blue Mountains of the Western Ghats, popularly known as Nilgiris which has numerous hill stations in this area. The most popular is Munnar, the honeymoon capital of the state. The highest peak of the Western Ghats is located at Anamudi (2,695 metres) and is good for trekking. The area is also home to several sanctuaries and forest reserve areas.
Several small and big Hill stations, spread in Eastern Districts of Kerala are highly popular picnic spots. Wayanad and Idukki offers several such idyllic picnic spots.
There are more than two dozen waterfalls, both large and small, with numerous rapids and springs. The largest fallwaters are at Athirampally, where three milky waterfalls fall at great speed.
Forest Parks
=========
Periyar National Tiger Park, Eravikulam Reserve, Silent Valley Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Wayanad Reserves are some of the most popular tourist destinations, offering spectacular insights to the rich flora and fauna biosphere of Kerala. Many of these parks are well known internationally due to presence of exotic animals like Nilgiri Tahr, Gaur, Indian Muntjac, Sambar Deer, Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat, Dhole, leopard and the Indian Tigers, which many are endangered rare species. Some little known animals such as Nilgiri langur, Stripe-necked Mongoose, Indian Porcupine, Nilgiri Marten, small clawed otter, Ruddy Mongoose, and Dusky striped squirrel offers a visual treat to tourists. Wild elephant herds making seasonal visits to water bodies are also seen in many of these parks.
Kerala also has several bird parks, with more than 132 species of birds on record. Thattekkad Salim Rajan Bird Park is one such famous destination along with Malayatoor Forest Reserves

Kerala a state in Southern India is known as a tropical paradise of waving palms and wide sandy beaches. Backwaters

Backwaters of Kerala are a maze of lagoons criss-crossed with rivers, shallow pools and canals, all separated from the sea by a narrow strip of sand banks. In many places, the backwaters connect to form large lakes. Backwaters are present throughout the state Astamudi Lake is highly unique due to its topography. This is the most beautiful backwater of Kerala
The annual Vallam Kali boat races take place in the backwaters. The boats are large wooden canoes that can accommodate 60 to 100 rowers. The most famous race is for the Nehru Trophy Vallam Kalli, held on the second Saturday of August as a tribute to the former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who had a keen interest in this sport.
Mountains
=======
The Blue Mountains of the Western Ghats, popularly known as Nilgiris which has numerous hill stations in this area. The most popular is Munnar, the honeymoon capital of the state. The highest peak of the Western Ghats is located at Anamudi (2,695 metres) and is good for trekking. The area is also home to several sanctuaries and forest reserve areas.
Several small and big Hill stations, spread in Eastern Districts of Kerala are highly popular picnic spots. Wayanad and Idukki offers several such idyllic picnic spots.
There are more than two dozen waterfalls, both large and small, with numerous rapids and springs. The largest fallwaters are at Athirampally, where three milky waterfalls fall at great speed.
Forest Parks

Periyar National Tiger Park, Eravikulam Reserve, Silent Valley Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Wayanad Reserves are some of the most popular tourist destinations, offering spectacular insights to the rich flora and fauna biosphere of Kerala. Many of these parks are well known internationally due to presence of exotic animals like Nilgiri Tahr, Gaur, Indian Muntjac, Sambar Deer, Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat, Dhole, leopard and the Indian Tigers, which many are endangered rare species. Some little known animals such as Nilgiri langur, Stripe-necked Mongoose, Indian Porcupine, Nilgiri Marten, small clawed otter, Ruddy Mongoose, and Dusky striped squirrel offers a visual treat to tourists. Wild elephant herds making seasonal visits to water bodies are also seen in many of these parks.
Kerala also has several bird parks, with more than 132 species of birds on record. Thattekkad Salim Rajan Bird Park is one such famous destination along with Malayatoor Forest Reserves

The Drawing Room is so pretty even if you don’t want to eat any food, you could just sit and stare at the giant trees that loom outside, the large, idiosyncratic fresco on the wall, the Bohemian furniture, or just the sea behind. But eat, you must, for the food is prettier. At one end of the historic Cochin Club, the eatery does not make a big show of itself. But it is not so undramatic at the table ...
