Police are urgently searching for an hours-old baby girl who was snatched from Gold Coast University Hospital.
The newborn, born just after 12pm on Friday, was taken from the hospital about 3.30pm by her mother and father.
Police have since released CCTV images of the couple leaving hospital, and urged any members of the public with information to contact them immediately.
Police said the child's mother, 30, and father, 45, as well as a 12-14 year old girl*, left the Gold Coast University Hospital by bus but were now in a car and believed to be in the wider Gold Coast area.
The four were last seen at a Palm Beach address, but may be travelling towards Banora Point in a silver Kia Carnival vehicle.
Detective Inspector Jim Plowman said the search was about "just wanting a proper health check".
"What I would say to the parents that have taken this child, they have currently committed no criminal offences," he said.
"This is purely about the welfare and safety of the baby, who was born just after midday, and we're very eager to get some medical attention to that child."
Inspector Plowman said police were alerted to the baby's disappearance by the Department of Child Safety. The baby's mother is a client of the department, and they hold concerns about the baby's welfare.
The mother was described as Caucasian in appearance, about 170 centimetres tall and last seen wearing a white shirt and a black skirt.
The father was described as Caucasian in appearance with a shaved head and beard, and was last seen in a blue polo shirt with board shorts.
The girl was last seen wearing a blue and white striped jumpsuit and white sandals, and has brown shoulder-length hair.

Inspector Plowman thanked the public for their assistance so far.
"Since the release of the Amber Alert we've had a number of calls from the public and we are following up on some quite good leads," he said.
"I'd encourage people to keep being vigilant and providing information to us."
