10 new watches from luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin has announced not one but 10 new models to bolster its cushion-shaped Harmony collection, a favourite with aficionados.

While some are upgrades or cosmetic changes to existing models, the stand-out is a new complication for the collection, a Harmony Complete Calendar featuring a brand new movement.

That said, the calendar  complication itself is a traditional one well-known to enthusiasts, the date indicated on an outer chapter ring by a hand tipped with a burgundy crescent, while the day and date is revealed in little windows with a phase of the moon display completing things with a flourish – it promises to require adjustment just once in 122 years instead of every three years, the conventional timespan for such things.

The watch is presented in a pink gold case spanning 40mm x 49.3mm and features an opaline dial with anthracite numbers. The new movement is based on Vacheron's self-winding calibre 2460 and offers a 40-hour power reserve. The price will be around the $50,000 to $60,000 mark.

Tourbillon Chronograph

At a higher price point altogether is the Vacheron Constantin Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph which now comes cased in pink gold whereas the original was in platinum. With a warmer look the new 42mm x 52mm statement – it features a hand-wound monopusher chronograph and tourbillon running at 18,000 vph – will vibrate your wallet to the tune of $330,000 if our calculations are correct.

The Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph, a mono-pusher piece sans tourbillon, gets a new dial treatment with anthracite rather than blue hands for the central chronograph seconds hand, and minutes register and numerals. Doing without the tourbillon means you save in excess of $200.000, the price likely to be around or under the $100,000 mark.

A similarly priced gold beauty – likely to be in the $80,000 to $90,000 region – is a Harmony Small Chronograph that will no doubt appeal to enthusiasts who prefer a smaller timepiece. At 37mm x 46.6mm, the sizing appears perfect for the cushion case, while anthracite chronograph hands and numbers distinguish it from the original small model that came with a diamond-set bezel and blue hands. You still want diamonds? It's an option, now available with the same anthracite hands as the non-diamond newbie.

Dual Time

Five New Harmony Dual Time Models complete Vacheron Constantin's  October parade. They get the anthracite function hands of the aforementioned new models, and are offered in white or pink gold in two 40mm x 49.3 mm models, two diamond-set 37.46mm x 11.18mm models and a small pink gold model without diamonds, priced from around $50,000.
