Margaret Seddon (November 18, 1872 – April 17, 1968) was an American film actress. She appeared in 104 films between 1915 and 1951, including Frank Capra's Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936). She was born in Washington, D.C. and died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Margaret Rhea Seddon (born November 8, 1947) is a physician and retired NASA astronaut. After being selected as part of the first group of astronauts to include women, she flew on three Space Shuttle flights: as mission specialist for STS-51-D and STS-40, and as payload commander for STS-58. Both before and after her career in the astronaut program, she has been active in the medical community in Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas.
Seddon was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where she graduated from Central High School in 1965. She received a bachelor of arts degree in physiology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1970, and a doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1973. While at the University of California, Seddon was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.
After medical school, Dr. Seddon completed a surgical internship and 3 years of a general surgery residency in Memphis with a particular interest in nutrition in surgery patients. Between the period of her internship and residency, she served as an Emergency Department physician at a number of hospitals in Mississippi and Tennessee, and served in this capacity in the Houston area in her spare time. Dr. Seddon has also performed clinical research into the effects of radiation therapy on nutrition in cancer patients.
Margaret is a female first name, derived via French (Marguerite) and Latin (Margarita) from Greek Margarites, derived from the noun margaron meaning 'pearl'. The Greek is probably related to the Sanskrit मञ्जरी mañjarī meaning 'pearl' or 'cluster of blossoms.'
Margaret has been an English name since the 11th century, and remained popular throughout the Middle Ages. It became less popular between the 16th century and 18th century, but became more common again after this period, becoming the second most popular name in the United States in 1903. Since this time, it has become less common, but was still the ninth most common name for women of all ages in the United States as of the 1990 census.
Margaret has a large number of diminutive forms in many different languages.
Alternate forms of Margaret, including short forms and pet names, include:

# 10 Women Who Have Traveled Into Space : Human beings have always been intrigued by what is there beyond earth. They have travelled to the space, set foot on the moon and probably in the near future, will also land on moon. History has also witnessed many women who have done the same, just as their male counterparts. So far, 59 women have flown to space. But who among them, did it first. Let’s find out! The following is a list of 10 women who have traveled into space, sorted by date of first flight. Although the first woman flew into space in 1963, very early in crewed space exploration, it would not be until almost twenty years later that another flew. 10. Mary L. Cleave 9. Bonnie J. Dunbar 8. The state of the Arab world today, particularly as regards the confrontation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, could be summed up as two countries that are little more than petrol stations waving flags and preparing to go to war. Or at least that’s the approximate meaning of the Saudi king’s (or maybe his son’s, the new crown prince’s) ultimatum to Qatar, which gave the Gulf state just ten days to respond to thirteen demands. Virtually all are simply unconscionable unless, that is, Qatar wishes to run down its flag and end its existence as an independent sovereign state. So, could things get any worse? In this special edition of Sputnik, we devote the entire episode to the Gulf region and talk to pre-eminent journalist, writer, and broadcaster Abdel Bari Atwan about the state of the Ara...

When Stephen Seddon crashed his hired BMW into a canal, he was seen as a hero after rescuing his elderly parents from drowning. But just months later Stephen’s parents were found shot dead. It first appeared to police that his father had killed his wife then taken his own life. Detectives had to use all their skills to solve what the judge would call a ‘terrible and unnatural crime.’ Stephen stood to inherit £230,000 but appeared to have a cast iron alibi for the time the murder was committed. Detectives had to work extremely hard to gather the evidence to gain a conviction for Robert and Patricia’s murder. The political situation on both sides of the Atlantic is in total chaos: Donald Trump is still the president of the United States (for the time being anyway) and on this side of the pond, the UK government is hanging by the tassels of an orange sash, with state policy appearing to march to the sound of the Democratic Unionist Party band. From the Guardian: Rachel Reeves, the chair of the House of Commons business select committee, says she will use her powerful new role to ensure Britain’s companies can make their voices heard on Brexit. The Labour MP for Leeds West, and former Bank of England economist, beat three of her colleagues, including Liam Byrne, to the job on Wednesday, in an election among MPs from all parties. Reeves said she would follow in the footsteps of her predecessor, Iain Wright, by holding rogue firms to account – but also explore the risks of Brexit for businesses. “In some ways we will be the friend of business on Brexit, and ensure that their voice is heard. It’s about holding the government to account, but also trying to get it right in terms of our future relationship, for business, investment...
