Here ist my third Progressive Psytrance Mix of 2014.
Few days ago I had the idea to create this mix and like so often it's a REALLY special one and also a REALLY long one! :)
It's overall 3 HOURS and 40 MINUTES and contains 30 tracks, produced between 1993-2008, which means they cover 15 years of Psychedelic Trance music!
The concept behind this mix is simple:
THE MOST HYPNOTIC MELODIES OF THE UNIVERSE, CAREFULLY SELECTED AND PUT TOGETHER IN A SINGLE MIX!
So it comes that this mix contains MOST OF MY ABSOLUTE ETERNAL HALL OF FAME FAVORITE TRACKS!!!
More than the half tracklist belongs them!
so, if you know me and my mixes you can already imagine what you can expect here, but also imagine this:
Some time ago I did a rough estimate and I've heard probably around 35.000-40.000 tracks in my life and this mix contains the imo very best tracks from these many thousand tracks!
If I need to describe this mix in a single word: EPIC! :)

Travel
Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations, and can involve travel by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, airplane, or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip. Etymology
The origin of the word "travel" is most likely lost to history. The term "travel" may originate from the Old French word travail. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word travel was in the 14th century. This link reflects the extreme difficulty of travel in ancient times. Also note the torturous connotation of the word "travailler." Today, travel may or may not be much easier depending upon the destination you choose (i.e., Mt. Everest, the Amazon rainforest), how you plan to get there (tour bus, cruise ship, or oxcart), and whether or not you decide to "rough it (see extreme tourism and adventure travel). "There's a big difference between simply being a tourist and being a true world traveler," notes travel writer Michael Kasum. This is, however, a contested distinction as academic work on the cultures and sociology of travel has noted.

Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in 1977. They achieved commercial success in the 1980s and, despite various personnel changes, continue to record and tour.
The band scored a string of hit singles, and are best known internationally for their 1985 hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (UK #7, US #1, CAN #1), from the soundtrack of the John Hughes film The Breakfast Club. Their other more prominent hits include "Alive and Kicking" (UK #7, US #3, CAN #3) and "Belfast Child" (UK #1, IRE #1, NLD #1). In 1986, the band was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group.
The core of the band is the two remaining founding members – Jim Kerr (vocals, songwriting) and Charlie Burchill (guitars, keyboards after 1990, other instruments, songwriting). The other current band members are Andy Gillespie (keyboards), drummer Mel Gaynor (who first joined the band in 1982) and Ged Grimes (bass guitar). Former members include bass guitarist Derek Forbes, drummer Brian McGee, and keyboardist Mick MacNeil.

The concept behind this mix is simple:

Here ist my third Progressive Psytrance Mix of 2014.
Few days ago I had the idea to create this mix and like so often it's a REALLY special one and also a REALLY long one! :)
It's overall 3 HOURS and 40 MINUTES and contains 30 tracks, produced between 1993-2008, which means they cover 15 years of Psychedelic Trance music!
The concept behind this mix is simple:

Joachim Pastor takes us on a trip up north with his latest Hungry Music release. Named after Iceland's capital and largest city Reykjavik, the title track instantaneous teleports the listener to the land of fire and ice. Based on a precise kick drum, that's backed by various rhythmic elements, the track starts morphing into a true musical adventure once the keys, pads and the growling bassline start doing their magic. Keep an ear out for the funky breaks near the end!
Now traveling eastward to the Mongolian city of Oulan Bator, where we get to taste the various Asian string, horn and percussion elements. Through it's musical elements the Oulan Bator composition combines the feeling of melancholy with the spirit of optimism.

Milk & Sugar return with ‘Bass’ - their take the 1988 classic - ‘Bass (How Low Can You Go?)’
First out in 1988 on Pete Tong’s Polygram label FFRR, the original was a Billboard Number 1 for UK acid house legend and Grammy award winner Simon Harris, who wrote and produced the track with Professor Griff from Public Enemy.
Now 27 years later Milk & Sugar have pulled the track out of oblivion to return it to dancefloors for 2015. Adding their signature style to the Harris hit, the duo keep Chuck D’s original vocal, maintaining the retro vibe with help from a Roland ́s classic 808 drum machine but add slinky, staggered house beats and a big bouncy bassline.
“It felt like time travel when Simon sent us the original samples,” say Milk & Sugar. “It was quite challenging to make it sound like 2015, without losing the vintage character. We kept some portions of the original voice arrangement, but added a new touch by chopping up and pitching and using tons of FX on other parts. Speeded it up to 122BPM, and the result is a real groove monster!”
The duo are also keeping the 80’s vibes flowing by re-using the original video, albeit with a new edit – a classic look back into 80’s hip hop history.
Working together for over a decade, Milk & Sugar have enjoyed success as DJ's, producers and label owners and are now excited to collaborate with Simon Harris. Harris became famous in the early 80s as a producer and DJ with his unique approach to merge Hip-Hop and house music. As founder of the Hip-Hop label “Music Of Life” and creator of “Beats, Breaks And Scratches”, a series of scratch-vinyls for DJ ́s, he was one of the driving personalities of the emerging DJ culture of the late 80s and early 90s.
Simon Harris: “'I have been fans of Milk & Sugar for years so when I heard they were interested in working on ‘Bass (How Low Can You Go)’ it was an honour! We share similar enthusiasm for recording and they are ahead of the curve when it comes to choosing the style of a track. I know ’Bass (How Low Can You Go)’ is in good hands with them.”

Corey Harris began his career as a New Orleans street singer, travelling throughout the southern U.S. In his early twenties he lived in Cameroon, West Africa for a year, which had a profound effect on his later work. He has recorded many old songs of the blues tradition while also creating an original vision of the blues by adding influences from reggae, soul, rock and West African music. His 1995 recording, Between Midnight and Day, is a tribute to the tradition of acoustic blues. Subsequent recordings, such as Greens From the Garden (1999), Mississippi to Mali (2003), and Daily Bread (2005) show Harris' maturation from interpreter to songwriter. Some of his imaginative compositions are marked by a deliberate eclecticism; other works stay true to the traditional blues formula of compelling vocals and down-home guitar. With one foot in tradition and the other in contemporary experimentation, Harris is a truly unique voice in contemporary music.
He has performed, recorded, and toured with many of the top names in music such as BB King, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Henry Butler, R.L.Burnside, John Jackson, Ali Farka Toure, Dave Mattews Band, Tracy Chapman, Olu Dara, Wilco, Natalie Merchant, and others. His additional recordings include Fish Ain't Bitin' (1996), Vu-Du Menz (with Henry Butler, 2000), Downhome Sophisticate (2002), and Zion Crossroads (2007).
In 2003 Harris was a featured artist and narrator of the Martin Scorcese film, "Feel Like Going Home," which traced the evolution of blues from West Africa to the southern U.S. In 2007, he was awarded a $500,000 MacArthur Fellowship -- commonly referred to as a "genius award" -- from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The annual grant, which recognizes individuals from a wide range of disciplines who show creativity, originality and commitment to continued innovative work, described Harris as an artist who "forges an adventurous path marked by deliberate eclecticism." That same year, he was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Bates College, in Lewiston, Maine.

Producers Matt King and Joe Froud, better known as Document One, have risen rapidly to become a serious force within the bass music scene. Their background as songwriters has resulted in an ultra harmonic and melodic take on club music, creating broad appeal even to those less familiar with the sound of electronic dance music. Document One's extensive remix catalogue ranges from mainstream artists such as Moby, Professor Green, Connor Maynard, all the way to heavy metal bands such as Rob Zombie and Asking Alexandra.
The duo have received recognition and DJ support from such heavy weights as Knife Party, Excision, Modestep and Rusko; as well as radio plays from Mistajam, Fabio and Grooverider, Trever Nelson, Crissy Criss, DJ Target and Skream and Benga to name a few.
Since 2010, Document One continue to play global live shows in over 28 countries including tours with Borgore, Modestep and Ministry of sound. Document One have featured a number of guest mixes and interviews for BBC Radio 1 DJ’s; Mistajam, and Annie Nightingale. The duo's online presence is testament to their success with over 48,000 fans on Facebook, total views on YouTube in excess of 9 million and their last release racking up over half a million plays on their personal Soundcloud alone. Document One have had a run of successful releases for Buygore, Never Say Die and Max Records, and are currently residing at Metropolis Studios, London working towards their forthcoming record.

Starting off with the Original Mix of ‘Lands of Arcadia’, Emanuele Congeddu and Nicolas Marriott bring to us an epic trance composition that will make you travel through your deepest musical emotions. From strength, with a powerful introduction that combines hard-hitting basslines and rhythmic drums. To passion, with an ecstatic breakdown filled with poignant orchestral elements, the duo show off their compositional skills with the climax of the song, which will send shivers down your spine!
The Ikerya Project remix as a follow up couldn’t have been a better choice. With its faster tempo and darker atmosphere, the Serbian producer delivers another great quality remix.
Finally, the Steve Dekay remix wraps up this release with again, an incredibly dynamic and effective composition with a more straight-forward breakdown, ideal for ending DJ sets on a faster tempo or to release pressure at home!
The release also includes radio edits.
‘Lands of Arcadia’ proves once again that Emanuele Congeddu and Nicolas Marriott, either as a duo or separately, are at the apogee of their art, and hopefully for a long time!

Nowadays he tries to blend the styles Trance, Acid and Goa which influenced him so much in the nineties to a perfect fusion as acidic & melodic Progressive Psytrance, Goa & Downbeat! His music selection is very simple - just the best of the best! All tracks are chosen very carefully due to his outstanding musical understanding. This is also what makes his sound so unique, because really every track is already something special on its own but put together to the whole it is a magic trip to infinity and back! He always tries to take you on a fantastic journey, to expand your consciousness and make your mind travel whereever it wants to.
