In focus: Greta Bradman, leading star in Puccini’s La Bohème

Greta Bradman, described as “one of the foremost sopranos of her generation”, is making her Opera Australia debut in one of their most popular productions La Bohème. Greta, can you tell us a bit about your journey of how you got into performing arts? Did you always want to become a singer?

Greta Bradman: When I was a girl all I wanted to do was sing – I drove my mum mad as I wouldn’t even stop while she was talking to me, I couldn’t help myself! – but I never really thought it was something you could actually do as a career. It was more something I saw as a part of who I was and something I knew I had to find a way of including in my life. I sort of still feel that way now. Like every moment I get to sing is a moment I’m so fortunate to have.
