Ravenshoe blast paramedics honoured with awards

Queensland paramedics have been acknowledged for their work in dealing with the 2015 Ravenshoe explosion caused by a ute crashing into a cafe that left two dead and 21 others severely burnt.

In all 19 paramedics received the Meritorious Service Award and 22 were presented with the Commissioner's Certificate of Commendation for their roles in dealing with the explosion.

Presenting the awards, Health Minister Cameron Dick said the efforts of paramedics had "saved lives that day."
