A 48-year-old man has drowned while canoeing as storms ripped through south-east Queensland.
The Mount Delaney man was pulled from Lake Wivenhoe shortly after 6pm Wednesday but paramedics called to the northern end of the waterway, in Mount Archer north of Brisbane, declared him dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said the man was believed to have been setting out crayfish pots with a friend, 50, when the storm hit and caused problems.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
