One thing is certain as we sail speculatively into a new world of quantum physics, space travel, artificial intelligence, thought transference and advanced nanotechnology; the nature of scholarships will change as surely as education itself.

Living in London during the race riots in the late 1960s, St Leonard's College principal Stuart Davis learnt that "if you don't embrace people of all cultures you'll get conflict". "One of the things we need to do better is embrace people into our communities," he says.
