With a skull pattern evoking fine lace drawn beneath the arabesque tracks left by skiers, Hublot introduces two versions of the Big Bang Sugar Skull.
The Big Bang Sugar Skull limited editions come in cobalt blue or hot pink with optional matching skis from AK SKI which has revolutionised the winter sport by becoming the first manufacturer to use rubber on its skis.
The models, each limited to 50 pieces, are cased in matt black ceramic and house a mechanical automatic winding chronograph movement.
For the 41mm hot pink version master craftsmen from Bischoff prepared silk organza embroidery in their workshops in Saint-Gall. Floral arabesques sketching out a “skull” motif decorate the watch from its carbon-fibre dial to its ceramic bezel and its pink rubber strap. On the dial, layered sheets of fibre printed with transparent resin are affixed onto a base of carbon fabric. The indexes are black diamonds.
The Big Bang Sugar Skull Blue Cobalt reference is 44 mm and is cased in micro-blasted black ceramic with blue composite resin inserts. The skull is drawn in midnight blue on the skeleton dial. Its motifs are engraved on the bezel and embossed on a strap of calfskin sewn onto rubber.
Self-winding movements with 42 hours power reserve power both models.
Our take on the Hublot Big Bang Sugar Skull? Why not, and why not for summer climes too? That said, not for the recessive!
