Zid, koji se gradi da bi se  reklamama za Waterfront zaklonio pogled na skladišta (migrantske skvotove)  i na ljude koji su nakon evikcije parkova našli sklonište u zgradama iza autobuske stanice i krenuli da se sami organizuju.

Već mesecima oko 800 ljudi živi u ovim skvotiranim zgradama. Ljudima čiji  se papiri ne priznaju (jer ih sistem ilegalizuje) stalno prete policijske racije, a i buldožeri Waterfronta se mogu pojaviti svakog trenutka da bi rušili zgrade.  Uključujući i kuću porodice Timotijević  ovo je zapravo „linija fronta“ jednog neoliberalnog napada „džentrifikacije“ koji vode Waterfront-investitori i njihovi posljušnici, lokalni političari.

Uslovi  u ovim skvotovima su veoma teški,  nedostatak  je svega, ljudi pristižu ili su deportovani (iz Mađarske i Hrvatske) sa teškim povredama,  pored svega svakodnevna je borba sa strašnom hladnoćom.

Mediji citirajući zaposlene Komesarijata protiv izbeglica i predstavnike mafijaške vlasti šire vesti da migrantima manipulišu neki “neuobičajeni aktivisti koji ne komuniciraju sa drugim organizacijama”  i koji migrante  nagovaraju da ostanu u parku, umesto da odu  u kampove “koji su obezbeđeni na najhumaniji, najpristojiniji mogući način”.                                       Baš zanimljivo. Naravno novinari ne pitaju same migrante da li ih je neko ikada nagovarao na nešto i koji su razlozi zašto ne žele u kampove.

Ljudi se sami odlučuju da ostanu i borave u ekstremnim uslovima – ali ipak u zajednici sa više slobode kretanja i autonomije odlučivanja umesto institucija gde su često ponižavani i zatvarani. Alternativa koju im vlast nudi  je Preševo – zatvoreni kamp, odakle je jedini izlaz deportacija nazad u Makedoniju. Dakle između hladnoće i  zarobljeništva šta bi vi birali?

Ne zaboravljamo Gazu i Palestinu i sve militarizovane apartheidske zidove i ograde (kojih ima više od 30 na planeti ),   i državno nasilje kojem služe.

Walls, walls …. fences, fences

This is the wall that is being constructed in this moment, in order to have a „Belgrade Waterfront“ advertisement hiding the view on the squatted warehouses.

These walls and on the people who got evicted from the parks and found themselves a shelter in these buildings behind the train station, this is where they are living self-organized.
For months now about 800 people live in these occupied houses. Its people who are excluded from travelling officially,  illegalized by the system they constantely have to fear police raids. The other threat is the buldozers of “Waterfront“ that could appear in any moment and demolish the squats. This threat is the same for the house of the Timotijević-family.
This is the “frontline“ of a neoliberal attack called gentrification. The attack is lead by the Waterfront-investors and its obedient local politicians.
The conditions to live inside these squatted houses are tough. There is a lack of everything. People are coming (back) or are being deported (from Hungary or Croatia) with serious injuries from police-beatings and despite all there is the everyday struggle with the cold.

The media – quoting employees of the commissariat against refugees and representatives of the serbian authorities – are spreading interesting news: they are saying that apparently migrants are manipulated by some „unusual activists who do not communicate with other organizations“ and who are persuading them to to stay in the parks instead of going to the camps „where they are being treated in the most possible human, most possible polite way“. Interesting. Of course these journalists do not ask people on the move themselves if they have ever been talked into anything or for what reason someone doesn’t want to go to a camp.
In addition to all that, there is more and more stories from people who got deported from the -so called secure place – camp, to Macedonia.
People decide for themselves to live under extreme conditions. They prefer to live in community with the autonomy to decide and with more freedom to move instead of living under the pressure of a institution where people are often humiliated and locked up. The alternative offered by the authorities is Preševo – a closed camp, where from the only exit is deportation back to Macedonia. So, between coldness and incarceration – what would you choose?

We also dont forget Gaza and Palestine and all militarized walls and fences (there are more than 30 of them) and the state violence they are serving.

Bulgaria Hundreds of migrants clashed intensely with police today (24.11.2016.) in
the detention centre of Harmanli, close to the Turkish-Bulgarian border.
The riots lasted for hours and the pigs needed rubber bullets, water
cannon and tear gas to break it. After entering the camp the cops
indiscriminately beat up migrants in their own rooms (photos – in the
comment under the post). The migrants were put under a quarantine some
days ago after local people, stirred up by nationalist and fascist
parties and organisations, protested against the centre, claiming it was
a source of diseases. Although an inspection proved this wrong, the camp
was literally besieged by police and people were forbidden from leaving
it (it is not a close centre, so people are normally allowed a limited
mobility). The treatment of migrants in Bulgaria is and has been
specifically brutal. Migrants have been killed on the border with
Turkey, where a massive fence was recently built, the cases of beatings,
degrading treatment and brutality are an everyday reality. All this
happens in an atmosphere where the media with no exceptions is a source
extremely racist and anti-migrant discourse. The fascists and
nationalists have been gathering strength and carry out daily attacks on
migrants, apart from their regular “refugees out” marches.                                                     The opposition on any level is becoming more and more difficult as people
who express anti-fascist and anti-racist ideas are targeted by violent
gangs of fascists who enjoy almost complete impunity.

While on the court  (see  the trial of the  Röszke 11 and many other cases) full equipped riot police and their cars (!) are  presented as victims of plastic bottles and stones thrown by protesters,  day by day and night by night there is the constant, systematic police violence, completely normalized, something we don’t hear about or  „we got used to it“.  We got used to cases of beatings, deaths, robberies, prisons, tortures…

What responsibility we take in the process of normalization of violence and repression?  What is our  respond as members of  the  local communities on legitimate racism, apartheid laws and murderous nationalism?

Testimony: another case of brutal police violence,  a 16 years old boy almost died  of the injuries caused by the hungarian police

The testimony was taken in Belgrade from two young boys (one of them  is only 16) by an activist who is also illegalized and stuck in Serbia. The testimony was translated from urdu to english.
 

„ It was  on the 5th of  November,  Saturday night  10-11 PM, close to the hungarian border but on the serbian soil, a kind of abandoned place.

We have never tried to cross the fence before that, we were 36 people sleeping in that place, at late night we saw the lights and everybody tried to take the bag and run. 3 of us did not manage to escape and we were caught by the police. It was a hungarian police who crossed to the serbian soil (about 200 m far from the fence ) and they beat us very badly with their special weapon, the so called black stick. They were 3 police officers, and one of them brought  a dog.

Somehow we managed to find the main road and we wanted to be caught by the serbian police because we were  bleeding a lot and we needed urgent medical help. The police called the ambulance and they took us to the hospital.

They  smashed my head,  I have seven stitches now and my friend’s hand is injured very badly.

After the serbian police took our pictures and fingerprints, we were taken to the camp in Subotica. It’s a bad place, so we came back to Belgrade again. We hoped we can get some help here, but nobody helped us here. Nor the MSF and non of all these organizations. They don’t do anything for us. “

Dok pred sudom policija pod punom opremom  se predstavlja kao žrtva plastičnih flaša i kamenja koje su bacali protestanti (pogledajte o suđenju Röszke 11 i mnogim drugim slučajevima) iz dana u dan, iz noći u noć, konstantno je prisutno sistematsko policijsko nasilje protiv migranata. Ono je normalizovano, postalo je nešto o čemu ne čujemo ni reč ili nešto na šta smo navikli. Navikli smo na šibanja, ujede pasa, smrtne slučajeve, pljačku, zatvore, mučenja…

Kakvu odgovornost preuzimamo u procesu normalizacije nasilja i represije? Kakav je naš odgovor kao članova lokalnih zajednica na legalizovani rasizam, zakone aparthejda i ubilački nacionalizam?

Svedočenje:  Još jedan slučaj brutalnog policijskog nasilja. Šesnaestogodičnjak jedva preživeo povrede prouzrokovane od strane mađarske policije

Svedočenje je od dva mladića (jedan od njih ima samo 16 godina) preuzeo aktivista koji je i sam ilegalizovan i zaglavljen u Srbiji. Prevedeno je sa urdua na engleski i sada na srpski.

“To je bilo petog novembra, bila je subota noć, negde oko 10-11 uveče, blizu mađarske granice ali na tlu Srbije, u jednom napuštenom objektu.

Pre toga ni jednom nismo pokušali da pređemo granicu, nas 36 je spavalo na tom mestu, probudila su nas svetla i svi smo samo zgrabili torbe i pokušali da pobegnemo. Nas trojica nismo uspeli i uhvatila nas je policija. Bila je to mađarska policija koja je prešla na teritoriju Srbije, na otprilike 200 m od žice. Pretukli su nas užasno njihovom specijalnom opremom, takozvanim crnim palicama. Bilo ih je trojica i jedan je vodio psa.

Nekako smo uspeli da nađemo glavni put i želeli smo jako da nas uhvati srpska policija jer smo mnogo krvarili i bila nam je potrebna medicinska pomoć. I zaista, policija je pozvala hitnu pomoć koja nas je prevezla u bolnicu.

Meni su razbili glavu, imam sedam kopči, a ruka mog prijatelja je teško povređena.

Kada nas je policija fotografisala i uzela naše otiske, odvedeni smo u kamp u Subotici. To je grozno mesto, pa smo se ponovo vratili u Beograd. Nadali smo se da ćemo ovde dobiti neku pomoć, ali niko nam nije pomogao. Ni MSF ni bilo koja druga organizacija. Niko nije učinio ništa za nas. “

“Terrorism“ has become a tool to legitimize everything the state is doing, it is used to silence every opposition – against border regime, capitalism or the control over our lives.

The Röszke trial is revealing the reality of a system in which state and police violence is never put in question. This goes hand in hand with increasing fascism, creating fear and thus establishing a framework of racism and repression.
Nonetheless this setting expands well beyond Hungary: Hungary cannot be seen as the most “evil“ EU-state, but only as a part of the EUropean fences-and-prisons-system that criminalises free movement of people just as it criminalises solidarity.

So far the Röszke-Trials and especially Ahmed’s case have not raised much attention in Europe even though solidarity movements have tried to spread the word. So now, let’s unite our voices against racism and repression! Join the Demos in Szeged and Budapest to show solidarity!

Srpska policija postaje sve nasilnija prema ljudima koji posle marša nastavljaju protest
na hrvatskoj granici kod Tovarnika.

Policija je u jednom momentu kada su se ljudi približili granici nasilno napala aktiviste  (ilegalizovane migrante ) i   aktiviste ( čiji se dokumenti  priznaju). Zatim su ih razdvojili, tokom odvajanja su primenili fizičku silu. Svi demonstranti su vraćeni na prvobitno mesto protesta.

Već duže vreme ne dozvoljavaju dostavu hrane i vode niti je Lekarima bez granica dozvoljeno pružanje medicinske pomoći. Tokom noći provedene na otvorenom, na temperaturi daleko ispod nule policija je ugasila sve male vatre i zabranila paljenje vatre.

Policija ih sada pokušava nagovoriti da se vrate za Beograd. Ljudi u protestu odbijaju da pregovaraju.

Drugarice i drugovi,

Koliko često imamo osecaj da ne nalazimo načine i mogućnosti borbe  protiv svakodnevnog nasilja i represije koje države i vladari kreiraju- kada  se većina ljudi oko nas  vodi kapitalističkim idealima i slave militarističke ideologije i prakse? Kako se izboriti s  tim i ostati mentalno kolko- tolko u redu i pored toga još i finansijski preživljavati? Često smo dolazili do zaključka da u regionu skoro “ništa nije moguće”. Nema većih              (masovnih) protesta, eksploatisani i  potlačeni se retko organizuju , anti-autoritarne borbe skoro i da ne postoje ili nisu vidljive.

Zapravo se baš dosta toga dogadja. U petak (11.11.) nakon policijske racije u Beogradu oko 150 ljudi  se uputilo na samoorganizovani  marš za slobodu (kretanja) iz Beograda prema hrvatskoj granici. Ljudi su u najtežim okolnostima ( sa povredama, boreći se sa hladnoćom, snežnom kišom, u nedostatku svega i pod stalnim pritiskom vlasti i njihovih sluga) uspeli  danas da  stignu do granice kod Tovarnika.

Ovi hrabri ljudi su digli glas protiv državnog nasilja i kriminalizacije, pokazali da nisu bespomoćni, da ne žele da stoje u redovima za milostinju, da im niko ne može oduzeti dostojanstvo .Takođe su ukazali na  biznis i profitiranje  države i njihovih institucija od „ izbegličke krize“.

Problem graničnog režima  i nasilje koju stvara je  usko povezan sa problemima s kojima se svi svakodnevno suočavamo u sistemu u kojem ima mesto samo za “kretanje” dobara a ne ljudi i solidarnih ideja. Jedino što je slobodno u ovom drustvu je tržište. Ljudi se tretiraju kao roba za potrebe elita i kapitalističkih porobljivača.

Sama konstatacija da nema lokalnih solidarnih struktura neće promeniti status kvo, takve strukture se stvaraju aktivnim pokušajima. A upravo je sada prilika da se skupimo, osnažimo i radimo konkretne direktne akcije,  da spojimo lokalne i osobne borbe sa širim borbama. Sada je prilika da pokažemo solidarnost sa ljudima koji su se sami organizovali, koji ne žele da čekaju odluke sistema, kojima je puna kapa tlačenja i sistematskog ubijanja. Svaka smrt je direktna posledica militarizacije i zatvaranja granica, onemogućavanja slobode kretanja i putovanja. Ova solidarnost o kojoj pišemo se ne odnosi samo na humanitarno delovanje- to je ta vrsta solidarnosti, koju (ne)vladine organizacije ne poznaju, ona vrsta solidarnost koja znači zajedničko preispitivanje situacije, bunt protiv sistemskog – državnog i policijskog nasilja.

Povežimo i ujedinimo  borbe koje vi vodite svakodnevno u kolektivima ili individualno sa borbom ovih 150 ljudi za slobodu kretanja i protiv politike takozvane Tvrđave Evrope.

How often do we feel that we can’t find ways and possibilities to fight against the everyday violence and repression that the state and rulers create – when the majority of people around us hangs on to capitalist ideals and glorifies militaristic ideologies and practices? How to deal with that and to mentally stay more or less sane and also survive financially? We’ve often arrived to the conclusion that in the region, almost “nothing is possible”. There are no large (mass) protests, the exploited and oppressed rarely organise themselves, and anti-authoritarian struggles appear to hardly exist or are invisible.

In fact quite a lot of that is happening. On Friday (November 11), after police razzias in Belgrade, around 150 people embarked on a self-organised march for freedom (of movement) from Belgrade to the Croatian border. The people have today succeeded under the hardest conditions (with injuries, fighting the cold, snowy rain, lacking every basic need and under constant pressure from the authorities and their servants) to reach the border at Tovarnik.

These brave people have raised their voice against state violence and criminalisation, have shown they aren’t helpless, that they don’t want to stand in line for charity, that no one can take away their dignity. They’ve also pointed out the business and profit-making of the state and its institutions surrounding the “refugee crisis”.

The problem of the border regime and the violence it creates is closely linked to the problems we all face on a daily basis in a system in which there’s place only for the “movement” of goods but not people and ideas surrounding solidarity. The only thing that’s free in the state is the market. People are treated like slaves for the needs of the elites and capitalist slave-holders.
Simply observing that there are no local solidarity structures isn’t going to chance the status quo; such structures are formed through active efforts. But now in fact is the moment to gather, to join our forces and to bring about concrete change, to bring together local and personal struggles with larger struggles.

Now is the moment to show solidarity with people who have organised themselves, who don’t want to wait for the system to decide, who are fed up with oppression and systematic killing.
Every death is the direct result of the militarisation and closing of borders, of making free movement and travel impossible. This solidarity about which we write doesn’t only refer to humanitarian deeds. It’s a type of solidarity that NGOs and governmental organisations don’t know about, the type that looks at examining the situation together, to revolt against systemic state and police violence.

Let’s connect and unite the struggles you have everyday in collectives or individually with the fight of these 150 people for free movement and against the politics of so-called Fortress Europe.

One world, one struggle!

Nakon 35km hodanja po kiši i vetru sve do kasno uveče,  ljudi su  pokušali da se malo odmore  ispod jednog mosta na auto putu nedaleko od Šimanovca. Zbog vlage i hladnoće   bilo je nemoguće  spavati.

Prema naredbi policije benzinska pumpa, jedino mesto gde su ljudi mogli da se snabdeju s malo  hrane je bila zatvorena sat vremena, samo jednoj osobi je bilo dozvoljeno da uđe na pumpu u pratnji policije.

Komesarijat vrši konstantan pritisak na ljude u protestu, da bi se ljudi vratili u kampove, tamo “gde im je mesto“.

Zvanične organizacije imaju zabranu da  na bilo koji način podrže ljude. Ovi hrabri ljudi su digli glas i pokazali da nisu bespomoćni, da ne žele da stoje u redovima za milostinju, da im niko ne može oduzeti dostojanstvo, zato Komesarijat, UNHCR i ostali zločinci će sve uraditi da bi marš propao.

Ovaj protest takođe ukazuje na  biznis države i državnih institucija i  laži kako je sve sjajno i obezbeđeno ljudima.

Čak i takozvana samoorganizovana grupa Hot food Edomeni, koja distribuira dnevno oko 1000 obroka je zbog pritiska odlučila da neće  podržati ljude koji su u maršu. Zapravo su ucenjeni od strane Komesarijata da će biti ugašeni ukoliko prošire svoje aktivnosti van dometa koji im je za sada tolerisan.

Naravno potrebe su velike, pogotovo za hranom, toplom suvom odećom, kao i za mestom za odmor i skloništem od kiše.

Marš ka granici  se nastavio oko 8 ujutro.  Nekoliko ljudi zbog teških povreda nije moglo da nastavi.

Solidarno sa pobunjenima i potlačenima!

Solidarity with the protest marchers

After 35 km of walking in the train and wind until late at night, people have started to try to get a bit of rest under a highway bridge close to Šimanovci. Because of the wet and cold it’s been impossible to sleep.

Following police orders, the petrol station, the only place where they could find a little bit of food, was closed for an hour, and only one person was allowed to enter the station with police following.

The Commisariat puts constant pressure on the protesters, telling them they should return to the camp, “where their place is”.

So-called organisations are forbidden to support the people in whichever way. These brave people have raised their voices and showed that they are not helpless, that they don’t want to stand in line for charity, that no one can take away their dignity, and therefore the Commisariat, UNHCR, and the other criminals will do anything to have the march fail. This protest also shows the business of the state and state institutions, and the lies of how great and safe it is for people.

Even the so-called self-organised group Hot Food Edomeni, which daily distributes around 1000 meals, has decided to not support the protest marchers because of pressure. They in fact have been threatened with closure by the Commisariat if they spread their activities beyond the scope in which they are now tolerated to operate.

Of course the need is great, especially for food, dry warm clothes, as well as a rest place and shelter from the rain.

The march towards the border continues at around 8 in the morning. Some people haven’t been able to continue because of serious injuries.
