Background

The first live/work license in Chicago has been issued to Revolutionary Lemonade Stand, an unusual storefront business recently opened in Pilsen and now selected items are available to customers online!

Stephanie Weiner, who makes many of the items, recently opened this new Pilsen clothing shop on Leavitt Street south of Cermak Avenue. The front window display seems to melt the sidewalk winter snow in front of it with its colorful and political items. The 110 year old building was a former family bakery. The window now shows a dazzling sample of hand silk screened Che Guevara baby onesies and  "Si Se Puede" shirts, hats, scarves, tiles and jackets.

Inside the store  customers find a rare and playful array of justice items from "The people united will never be defeated" bracelets or the much sought after "Help Wanted: Revolutionaries" messenger bags. Whether you choose the uplifting "Builder of a New Society" shirt or any  of the other peace and justice designs, you are guaranteed to be the hippest family member or friend when anyone on your list opens these gifts.

Weiner wanted the store and now the website to be "like a lemonade stand that serves whatever is fresh and in season."  In this situation it means that we are all lucky to have a permanent and online place to buy meaningful and stylish message clothing, accessories and gifts about the issues of our day!
