Newsnight is a weekday BBC Television current affairs programme which specialises in analysis and often robust cross-examination of senior politicians. Jeremy Paxman was its main presenter for 25 years, until announcing in April 2014 that he was stepping down.
Several of the programme's editors over the years have gone on to senior positions within the BBC and elsewhere. The programme's regular presenters are currently Kirsty Wark,Emily Maitlis, and Evan Davis.
Newsnight has been broadcast on BBC Two since 1980. It goes out on weekday evenings between 10:30pm and 11:20pm. Occasionally it may have an extended edition if there is an especially significant event in the news – as happened on 7 July 2011, when closure of the News of the World led to a programme which continued until 11:35 pm. Recent editions are available to view and download for a limited time through the BBC iPlayer. A weekly 26-minute digest edition of Newsnight is screened on the corporation's international channel, BBC World News.

A television program is a segment of content intended for broadcast on vision, other than a commercial, trailer, or any other segment of content not serving as attraction for viewership. It may be a single production, or more commonly, a series of related productions (also called a television series).
A television series that is intended to comprise a limited number of episodes may be called a miniseries or serial. Series without a fixed length are usually divided into seasons or series, yearly or semiannual sets of new episodes. While there is no defined length, US industry practice tends to favor longer seasons than those of some other countries.
A one-time broadcast may be called a "special," or particularly in the UK a "special episode." A television film ("made-for-TV movie" or "television movie"), is a film that is initially broadcast on television rather than released in theaters or direct-to-video.
A program can be either recorded, as on video tape, other various electronic media forms, played with an on-demand player or viewed on live television.

If there were one single thing that brought Donald Trump to the attention of Americans all around the US it was a buccaneering book called "The Art of The Deal" which became an instant bestseller when it was published in 1987. It takes the reader through all Trumps big real estate deals line by line, but it's alleged that he didn't write a word of it. That was the job of a thirty something year old journalist Tony Schwartz, who stuck with Trump every day for more than a year, but when Trump announced his candidacy Schwartz was horrified and decided to atone for his part in Trump's rise. This is his first British television interview. Newsnight is the BBC's flagship news and current affairs TV programme - with analysis, debate, exclusives, and robust interviews. My sight is faint, my hearing is gone
It always tries to catch me off guard
But I'm glad my eyes are closed now
To not see or hear the house crumbling down
I'll come downstairs chasing your voice
And I'll find you there reading a book
The light through the windows filling the room
The shell of solitude starting to crack
I'll kiss you on the lips and our time will be back
It grew between us when I was blind by your light
It screams against me behind it's fierce eyes
It never matters how hard the strain
The beast runs towards me hungry in it's pain
Biting and scratching mistaking it's fears
Looking to escape with eyes full of tears
I'll come downstairs chasing your voice
And I'll find you there singing a song
The rain on the windows playing along
The stark inner emptiness falling apart
