If some of these things seem like they might be in conflict at times with what the President of the United States can't do, well, that's the point. Checks and balances. The Government is made up of three branches - Executive (POTUS), Legislative (Congress), and Judicial (SCOTUS). No one has a magic button to do what they want. While this may seem like it creates a lot of pointless red tape and infighting, it also keeps the Republic running and not turning into an Oligarchy. So before you hate Obama/Bush/Clinton/Reagan, remember, the President takes most of the blame when everything goes wrong, and very little praise when it goes right.
If you're reading this list - or our previous list 25 Things The President Can't Actually Do - and saying to yourself "But so and so is stepping / stepped out of bounds!" remember, it's up to the other two branches of government to keep the president in check. A failing on one part of the government is also a failing on the other two parts of government. A three legged stool cannot balance with one or two legs. The President has the authority to convene Congress during a break during extreme circumstances. He also has the power to adjourn them if he deems it necessary, as outlined in Article II, section 3 of the Constitution.
The US president can grant pardons or reprieves for those convicted of Federal Crimes, as outlined in the Constitution, Article II, Section 2. EXCEPT in the case of impeachment, so the president cannot pardon him or herself if convicted of a crime while in office. To date, President Barack Obama has issued 348 pardons, more than any other president. However, many of them are for overly harsh sentences for things like marijuana possession.
The President is the official party leader of his or her political party while they are in office as the party leader is simply the most powerful person within that party. They take the lead in representing their party to the nation, addressing their party, and steering party policy.
The President has the power to veto a bill that has been passed by Congress. However, congress can vote to override a Presidential Veto, though it's rarely been done. If the President threatens to veto a bill, it can often lead to changes in the legislation before it's passed.
The President has the power to appoint ambassadors, SCOTUS judges (though these must be approved by Congress), the Secretary of State, and other various federal officials without an election but generally with approval from the Senate.
It is the job of the President to prepare the Budget (this takes months) and submit the proposed budget (called "Budget Of The US Government") to Congress for approval.

The President is a mountain peak on the The President/Vice-President Massif, just North of Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, near the Alpine Club of Canada's Stanley Mitchell hut.
The President was named Shaugnessy in 1904 by Edward Whymper after Thomas Shaugnessy, the president of the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1907, the mountain was renamed by the Alpine Club of Canada, after it was discovered that the name had already been used on a mountain in the Selkirks.

List of Presidents of the United States
Under the United States Constitution, the President of the United States is the head of state and head of government of the United States. As chief of the executive branch and face of the federal government as a whole, the presidency is the highest political office in the United States by influence and recognition. The president is also the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces. The president is indirectly elected to a four-year term by an Electoral College (or by the House of Representatives, should the Electoral College fail to award an absolute majority of votes to any person). Since the ratification of the Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1951, no person may be elected president more than twice, and no one who has served more than two years of a term to which someone else was elected may be elected more than once. Upon the death, resignation, or removal from office of an incumbent president, the vice president assumes the office. The president must be at least 35 years of age, has to have lived in the United States for 14 years, and has to be a "natural born" citizen of the United States.

Donald Trump
Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessperson and media personality. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. The President has the authority to convene Congress during a break during extreme circumstances. He also has the power to adjourn them if he deems it necessary, as outlined in Article II, section 3 of the Constitution.
The US president can grant pardons or reprieves for those convicted of Federal Crimes, as outlined in the Constitution, Article II, Section 2. EXCEPT in the case of impeachment, so the president cannot pardon him or herself if convicted of a crime while in office. To date, President Barack Obama has issued 348 pardons, more than any other president. However, many of them are for overly harsh sentences for things like marijuana possession.
The President is the official party leader of his or her political party while they are in office as the party leader is simply the most powerful person within that party. They take the lead in representing their party to the nation, addressing their party, and steering party policy.
The President has the power to veto a bill that has been passed by Congress. However, congress can vote to override a Presidential Veto, though it's rarely been done. If the President threatens to veto a bill, it can often lead to changes in the legislation before it's passed.
The President has the power to appoint ambassadors, SCOTUS judges (though these must be approved by Congress), the Secretary of State, and other various federal officials without an election but generally with approval from the Senate.
It is the job of the President to prepare the Budget (this takes months) and submit the proposed budget (called "Budget Of The US Government") to Congress for approval.
