Uber lost $800 million in the third quarter
Uber has notched yet another quarter of staggering losses. While the millions in losses look bad on the surface for Uber -- which was most recently valued at $68 billion -- the growth rate is slowing: The Information reports that the rate of Uber's losses is less than 25% year over year. Uber's improved year-over-year performance is likely the result of it selling Uber China to Didi Chuxing for $35 billion in August.

The Australian dollar is still getting slammed and is now lower for the year
The Australian dollar continued to slide in overnight trade, falling to as low as .7243 in recent trade, a level not seen since early June this year. The AUD/USD has now lost 3.7% since the US Federal Reserve lifted interest rates last week, extending the decline from the US election on November 8 to 6.8%. Technical selling, renewed US dollar strength, concerns about Chinese commodity demand and continued pessimism towards the prospect of Australia maintaining its AAA credit rating with Standard and Poor's were all cited as factors behind the reversal in the Aussie.
