Maureen Patricia Duffy (born 21 October 1933) is a contemporary British novelist, poet, playwright, nonfiction author and activist.
Duffy's work often uses Freudian ideas and Greek mythology as frameworks. Her writing is distinctive for its use of contrasting voices, or streams of consciousness, often including the perspectives of outsiders. Her novels have been linked to a European tradition of literature which explores reality through the use of language and questioning, rather than through traditional linear narrative.James Joyce in particular, and Modernism in general, are significant influences on her fiction, as is Joyce Cary. "Duffy has inspired many other writers and proved that the English novel need not be realistic and domestic, but can be fantastical, experimental and political." Her writing in all forms is noted for her 'eye for detail and ear for language' and "powerful intense imagery".
Her early plays often depict working class life, with humour and evocative language, and she joined the Royal Court writers' group at a time when the social realist school, associated with such playwrights as John Osborne and Arnold Wesker, was transforming British drama. Some of her plays have been described as "anarchic...dealing with taboo subjects...'total theater' reminiscent of the ideas of Antonin Artaud and Jean Genet, employing Brechtian techniques".Jean-Paul Sartre is also an influence on her drama.

Jack Woodbridge (born 1956) is an American-born pianist, singer and composer from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Woodbridge is known for his collaborations with independent film director Flavio Alves and award-winning guitarist/ producer Dean Bailin as well as for his theatrical scores and two albums, Picture This and Jack of Hearts.
Woodbridge was born and raised in the West Side neighborhood of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He is the son of John (deceased) and Joan Kenney Woodbridge and is a 1974 graduate of West Scranton High School. He discovered his love for music at an early age and began playing the piano at age eight. He wrote his first song, "Debbie Dear," at age 12 and began singing professionally following his graduation from high school.
Woodbridge graduated with a B.A. in Advertising from Pennsylvania State University in 1978. He self-designed his curriculum to include an emphasis on Music, Graphic Arts, Film and Photography. He has been a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) since 1996.
McCartney II is the second solo album by Paul McCartney, and the first since the formation of Wings in 1971. It was released in 1980, a year before the band's dissolution and while their future lay in limbo. The album is a significant departure for McCartney, as much of it relies heavily on synthesizers and studio experimentation. It was reissued on 13 June 2011 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.
After the release of what turned out to be Wings' final album, Back to the Egg, McCartney went north to his farm in Scotland to begin some private recordings in July 1979. The first song he recorded was "Check My Machine" as a way to test the equipment, hence its title. The track also samples dialogue from the 1957 Tweety and Sylvester cartoon "Tweet Zoo." By sessions' end, he had recorded over 20 songs. With no immediate use for the recordings, he put them aside for the time being and returned to work with Wings to prepare for a UK tour that November and December. Simultaneously with the performances (which included the new "Coming Up"), Paul McCartney released his first solo single since 1971, Christmas song "Wonderful Christmastime", backed with "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae", which charted at number 6 in the UK, and at number 10 on the Christmas Singles chart in the US. The A-side was recorded during the McCartney II sessions, while its flip side had been cut in 1975. However, upcoming events were about to change McCartney's plans with Wings.

Michael Dean hosts a discussion about the two-part 'Man Alive' report on homosexuality in Britain. The panellists, writer Maureen Duffy, social psychologist Michael Schofield, Conservative MP Ray Mawby and an unnamed general practitioner, debate whether it was appropriate to show the programmes at 8pm and question the broadcasts' balance in only including homosexual contributors. The conversation also covers wider issues, including people being blackmailed because of their sexuality, homosexuals working in positions of trust and the consideration that one in 20 people might be gay. At the time of this programme's broadcast, doctors were not allowed to be identified on BBC television in case this was interpreted as an advert for their practice. It is for this reason that the GP is not na...

She feeds her face with cheddar balls
As my brain cells start to pop
She licks her fingers stares away
Her IQ slowly drops
I pry my eyes as best I can
From that big electric stain
She feeds her face with cheddar balls
And stuffs more nonsense in her brain
Just when I thought I'd seen it all
They pull a cretin from the shelves
And flash that filth under their nails
To make us feel better about ourselves
As they ooze across the screen
Like a pustule gutted troll
We fill their coffers full of gold
And praise the skill of asshole
